pH adjustment problems

I have 6 plants growing in 5 gallon buckets under a 1000W HID lamp, in a continuous drip system. I am about a week from inducing flowering; each morning I need to replace 10 - 12 litres of water and the pH is down from 6.0 to 5.4 or less. Any idea why I am getting such a rapid pH change? The ppm of my nutrient solution is usually around 740.
