| Come on people, I know there are lots more soil growers than the number of responses to this thread would seem to indicate. Let's see what kind of mix you're using! ![]() How about good old Miracle-Gro? I haven't used this recipe but I know many others have with good results. 50-70% Miracle-Gro Potting Mix (Formulated with a blend of composted bark fines, Canadian sphagnum peat moss, horticulture-grade perlite, and a wetting agent, enriched with Miracle-Gro plant food, NPK 0.18-0.06-0.12) 30-50% perlite Other prefertilized potting soils/mixes can be substituted for Miracle-Gro. When using prefertilized soil, little to no additional fertilizers are usually needed during the vegging period. Last edited by Lizzie Borden; 02-28-2004 at 07:12 PM.. | ||

![]() | Well I haven't tried this mix out yet I'm wating untill I get some killer seeds. The mix I want to try is this 1 bag of Fox Farms ocean forest potting soil 35 quarts. 1 bag of Fox Farms Light warrior high yield agro ponic grow medium. I want to put down some quotes from the bag of Light warrior. "plant directly into light warrior. This ultra premium blend is ph adjusted to6.3 to 6.8 to ensure optimum nutrient availability to plants." "LW contains a powerful root stimlator called mycorrhizal fungi. Mycorrhizae occurs naturally in forest soils where the the humus content is high and the soil is thriving with microbial life. Once in contact with the plant's root system, mycorrhizae goes to work right away colonizing directly on the roots. This actvity dramatically expands both primary and secondary root development enabling the plant to take up more nutrient." "LW also contains Humic Acid, a naturally occurring organic material which is extracted from Leomardite." "Humic Acids aid in seed germination, and may increase micro nurtient uptake." Sounds like good stuff. here whats in it. Select sphagnum peat moss, horticultural perlite, earthworm castings, granite dust, humic acid (derived from leonardite), mycorrhizal innoculent, oyster shell(for pH adjustment). Oh there is 26 quarts in a bag. I'm not sure how much more perlite to mix in with it however. I was thinking about adding one or two 8 quart bags of perlite in with it. Let me know what ya all think bout it. | ||

It comes pre mixed and contains, spagnum peat moss, perlite, a wetting agent, and dolmetic limestome. It's called a soilless mix right on the bag. here's a pic along with the ferts I use ( won't give any recipies cause I'm a pinch of that , dash of this kinda guy) ![]() bye all, and good growin
