to me, mabye you need to water the damn things? whats your water sechdule?????

i have done so many starter grows then dumped them from paranoia, and they all grew when i threw old water in there, in a windowsill.........

it just must be something really simple as soil has all the nutes, you have good lighting, you are getting airflow, there cracking up to the surface. to me i dont think its the hydrohut, its some other mistake

sometimes they grow better when you dont give them much attention, they are jsut a plant you know, good luck

pot's too big

I always start my seeds off in a 1.5 x 1.5 cube (rockwool)
and then into a 16oz cup of dirt after they show a root (2-3 days)

with a small cup, they can cycle between wet and dry
that big pot won't dry out for over a week
since the bottom of it stays too wet...it becomes more acid
the roots won't grow into the soggy soil in the bottom
you get root rot and death

sure sign of overwatering in seedlings is death from the tips of the leaves...and slow to no growth

Ok here it is.

4. What size containers are they planted in?
3” for starters haven’t gotten any further

8. What kind of fertilizer do you use and what is its NPK ratio?
Haven’t gotten that far

Well for starters, I would think a 4 foot tall plant that is 3 months old would be hungry. You want to start feeding plants after the first baby round leaves shrivel up. If you haven't fed the plants and you put them under bright lights to grow faster, they will have nothing to eat.

tybud is starting to vegetate.

LOL......I just watered right before I checked the post.....lol

I started 8 seeds off in individual peat pots. I only got 1 to sprout. No clue what strain it might be. Where can I get seeds at? would love some clones but........ you now...lol

I haven't started feeding it yet. thought I would let it grow a few more days. But when I do I have a bottle of Age Old Grow(12-6-6). I was told that is an OK fert. for now. Should I cut the directions in half so I don't burn it?

Today I checked on it and it has a new set of leave sprouting up but it is turning a lighter green from the center this time. Checked the Ph of the water yesterday before I watered and it was a tad higher then 6.5 maybe closer to 7.

soil should be easy. Just keep it wet and covered with light. It will grow. your environment seems to have no problems, and it's not the hydrohuts fault

tybud is starting to vegetate.
Starting from seeds

Ok Here we go again..... I have started 5 Top44 seeds from Dr. Chronic. I started them in the paper towel method on the 21st and checked them on the 23rd the root was about a 1/4" on 4 of them and just poking out on the 5th oneso I placed them in Oasis cubes. So here we are on day # 5. When should I put them in the Hydroton? I get to this point and they kill over. I am hoping to get past the 3rd week with some noticable growth. here is the current 5 babies, then the last 2 pic is of my last atemped and that one is about 4 weeks old and dieing.

I am useing purified water with a PH of 5.5 and I am hoping i am reading the EC meter right it says 400 not .4.

I am using Fox Farm Nutes. and I am in the process of building 4 5gal bubble buckets. What's next Guys? this is getting to $$$$$ to mess up again

wow at four weeks it should be a plant not a seedling. idk what your doing wrong if i were you a would put a few into soil. thats the simplest way to grow. way more forgiving. im not a hydro grower cuz it seems like too much could go wrong. what light you got on them and dont feed them for a week or two.

Yeah I'm thinking on tossing the 4 weeker. I have tried soil........ no luck but I think I had heat problems and no meters then. I am growing in a 3X3 hydro hut with a 400 watt MH light.

I'm thinking I can't get this thumb to turn green.....lol

First, welcome to the Garden tybud!

Second thing you need to do is read Agent86's Bubbler Guide Day by Day as it contains great information for any hydro grower.

Don't feed those babies anything yet. And what solution tests to 0.4 EC? (An EC of 4 btw would be a pppm of 2000 & it'd kill those babies.) Are you sure that's not reading 400 ppm?
