Question Nute burn or nute def?

Soil Growers:
1. Are you growing from seed or clones? clones
2. How old are your plants? ~ 1 month
3. How tall are your plants? ~ 6"-1'
4. What size containers are they planted in? 5 Gallon pots
5. What is your soil mix? FF Ocean Forest
6. How often do you water and what type of water do you use? When they're dry.. Tap + RO
7. What is the pH of your water? ~6.5 after adjustment, though it has been a little on the high in past waterings
8. What kind of fertilizer do you use and what is its NPK ratio? 20-20-20 Green Jungle, 2-0-0 additive (not given last watering)
9. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? no
10. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") 400W HPS
11. How close are your lights to the plants? <1'
12. What size is your grow space in square feet? ~15
13. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? ~87, 88, though with a new fix it might be lowering
14. What is the pH of the soil? Don't know
15. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? No
16. How much experience do you have growing? 1st grow

I'm having some plant troubles on my indicas, which are the smaller of the plants. At first I thought it might be N def because of the yellowing, but that wouldn't really make sense as these are the smaller guys and if anything they've been given too much nutes. However, I did not give any of the plants the N additive I have given in the past with the last watering. Pretty sure it's not the light as they are shorter and the tallest girls aren't burned at all. These leaves pictured below are at about the middle of the plant, though it looks like some of the top leaves are starting to follow suit.

Iforgotit is beginning to sprout.

Looks to me like a nute def caused by ph problem. They're kinda twisting on the leafs. Soil might be too hot. Water them as normal, chill on the nutes and see what happens.

Ack it's getting worse. The leaves pictured are now a lot more yellow and a lot more "pigmented" (spotted). There's not much I can do until they dry out some more though. Unless I'm able to be positive that it's an N def I'm just going to be anal about the next water's ph and throw in some epsom salts just in case.

Hmm.. the leaf tips now are covered with necrotic patches. I'm wondering whether I should flush the 2? Pretty sure it's not MG as the yellowing/browning is moving up the leaf instead of circling the outside, though it could be nutrient burn.

Basically it's a matter of whether it's a PH lockout of N, nutrient burn, or rather whether or not to give them N on the next watering.

I think I'll be flushing them tonight and add a dash of epsom salts just in case.

Its nute burn. Flush them. You cant save the damaged leafs. Live and learn. Learn to read your plants, let them tell you when they need food.

I would say give them a good flush - 3 times as much water as the size of your pots. when you first flush, take a sample of the runoff and test it with your meter. That will give you an idea of the ph of what they are sitting in and how much has built up in the soil.

Unhappy

Thanks guys. I gave the 2 sick girls a good flushing.. ph runoff was low.. probably between 5 and 6. They look so pitiful now it makes me sad.. but I'm sure they'll bounce back. In the process of moving the buckets around I accidentally bumped one of the big girls and severed a new growth.. not exactly a happy night.

you can always check the ph of the first runoff and the ph of the last of the runoff to see of you have fluoshed them enough. That's what i do. Let them dry out, they'll bounce back
