Plants just don't want to stay healthy...

Okay, the problem first. I'm noticing all of my babies (7 total) are having a huge problem keeping leaves. It's been doing this since a few weeks after I went 12/12. The are turning yellow and just dying/dropping off like it's cool. Starts at the bottom, and works its way up. First it was just the larger fan leaves that come off the bottom of a secondary shoot. Now it's the biggest ones left which are starting to be not so many. I originally thought I had a nitrogen deficiency. I quit giving it my 5-1-1 Alaska brand fish emulsion because it was flowering. Gave it some and it made a come back, but only short lived. Same problem still and only 2-3 weeks from harvest. I don't have an air cooling or ventilation system installed yet. I do keep the cab doors open with a circulating fan on them though. Time and money, this whole thing was kinda pushed into my lap so I've been doing this as I go along. Dunno if that's part of it, or if it's a bad nute mix or what. Any insights? Thanks for the help!

Also for thoughts, gave a buddy of mine one of them awhile back before I went 12/12, and under CFL's and a fan and same nutes, but with Miracle Grow Organic soil (garbage) his baby is dark green and healthy. Not a lot of bud production but not bad for bagseed.

Okay, now here's the questionarre:
Soil Growers:
1. Are you growing from seed or clones?
Seed

2. How old are your plants?
About 5-6 months

3. How tall are your plants?
About 5 feet

4. What size containers are they planted in?
3 gallon black nursery pots

5. What is your soil mix?
70% Organics Mechanics soil, 30% perlite

6. How often do you water and what type of water do you use?
Now, every 2 days as needed, tap water from my well.

7. What is the pH of your water?
Prolly should know this but I'm a kook.

8. What kind of fertilizer do you use and what is its NPK ratio?
Alaska Brand Fish Emulsion 5-1-1 and Morbloom, 0-10-10

9. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything?
No.

10. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights")
600 watt digital electronic MHC with a HPS bulb in now

11. How close are your lights to the plants?
About a 8-10 inches above the ones under it, and the ones on the side are 8 inches above it.

12. What size is your grow space in square feet?
3'W x 6'H x 6'L

13. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space?
Not really sure. I know I know I'm working on these things.

14. What is the pH of the soil?
Again, don't know.

15. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space?
Nope.

16. How much experience do you have growing?
First Time!!

My first guess is rootbound you need atleast five gallons of soil for a five foot plant. Yellowing late into flowering is normal ie the last two weeks usually.

If you have to water every 2 days then maybe the problem is because the 3gal grow bags are not large enough for the plant. What is more likely happening is that if you let her dry out too much she will eat some of her lower leafs to keep herself going until she gets watered??

At 3 weeks left until harvest I wouldn't worry so much and I'd ride it out. Still, wouldn't hurt to figure out whats going on so it won't happen next time.

Goodluck.

Rampaging Panda is beginning to sprout.

(*note this response is kind of copied from another thread I have going too)

Three weeks from harvest now. Can I upgrade to 5 gallons today? Will that potentially help my harvest this late in the game? Or hurt it? Thanks for all the feedback!

HOUNDDOG is beginning to sprout.

hey guys, first post and i'm just on my way through to introductions , and i noticed this
thread. You say your bloom formula is 0-10-10 and the fish for veg is 5-1-1.When u gave
aliitle feed with the fish it imprved then went back ,is this cos they were needing the nitro
which is why they improved[albeit tempary]then reverted cos the bloom has zero nitro
in it?3 weeks to go is actualy pretty soon, even for soil, for a fade to start,it shows things
are not quite tuned in yet.The yellowness could make for a sweeter smoke as long as
u don't leave any others in there[p,k.mg].The yeild however will be slightly less.
best of brtitish to you brother,.HD.

TY everyone for the advice. Hounddog, I kept using small amounts of the fish emul. once a week to get those guys the N I thought they needed. They started yellowing about 5 weeks ago when I started 12/12. The general consesus for the yellowing seems to be rootbound. Even with the continued N (which I have now stopped) and the Morbloom, the yellow kept on coming. Next time, I'll make the upgrade to 5gal pots. I have the room and space and lighting for 6 footers so might as well maximize yield!! Some stunted bud growth on these seven, but the one white russian is doing damn well. Should be fun next month! Durban Poison seeds just came in this week, and I topped the two healthiest WR ladies and cloned them succesfully. They have just taken root and fresh sprouts / growth is now here. Starting next batch now!!

sorry bro, just re read and it says the plants are 5=6 months old, even with 15litrpots
that is too long, really a move b4 flower would have been best-as long as u got things
sorted though thats all that matters. That will teach me to read the q properly!

If your interested in maximizing yield I would suggest to not grow too large of plants indoors as it isnt really as effecient to do so under artificial lighting. Instead, try and keep your plants short to medium size and work on keeping a full and even canopy by using LST or scrog or something of that sort. A 600 watt light will give you some pretty deep penetration with your canopy but will be less effiecient with large plants (6 ft'ers)

Best of luck.
