![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There's plenty of nutrients in the soil for them to live off of, so they ain't going to die anytime soon from lack of nutrients. If you really want their roots to take off, don't water them once in your schedule for a day, say you water them every other day, leave them without water for two days. I usually wait until my soil is totally dry to the bottom to water my plants...especially after they have some leaves. Good luck.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm going on record as saying, "It's not good to let your soil dry out" As far as the Tx Laura, I don't know what size pot they were in. You could put them into a 1 gal container and plant it deeply enough so the stem is not "spindly." It's fine for the stem to be below ground. It will grow roots. If you do go into a gal pot, that's the largest, imo, you'll have to be careful about watering unless your soil mix is very loose with lots of perlite. You can buy a "moisture meter" for about 15 bucks at any home store. It's a probe that you place into the soil and a meter tells you how wet/dry your soil is. Very helpful accurate inexpensive tool that will last for years if you keep the probe clean. I just ordered a second one so I can keep one in the greenhouse. It's too difficult to lift 5/10/15/20 gal pots to see if they are ready for water and the finger method is not my favorite for a couple of reasons. 1. I don't really like getting dirt under my nails. ![]() 2. I think I damage small feeder roots. ![]() I lift small pots to see if they are dry and I use my meter on big pots. Otherwise, I tend to over water. Right now I'm dealing with an overwatering problem. Sorry to ramble on in your thread. I hope it was helpful. ![]() Peace- OD

laura--Hey Welcome to the garden first off. I'd suggest re-planting them into 16 ounce solo cups or something for now. Don't plant them down into the cups either, like you did in the bucket, you want them to get as much movement from air and stuff to get both the best air circulation, and co2 from fresh air. Replant them into cups, make sure 25% of the soil is perlite, and get a fan on them. Also then you'll be able to get the lights closer to them, and stop that stretching they are now doing. You have the HPS light up yet?? They will soon be big enough that you should be fine under that at a far enough distance away, with a fan blowing on them. Don't use the epson salts unless you have a problem of Mg deficiency. Some good nutes will go a long ways, but if not around, or can't afford them, get like fish chit 5-1-1 for vegging, and can pick that up at most grocery store chains around me if grow stores aren't in your neck of the woods. Some nutes like Ionic only run $14 bucks a bottle for nutes used by more mj growers too, they aren't all that expensive. IMHO See I've found a week old thread, sorry ex was laura and caught my attention. How's it going now?? Happy Growing Alleycat
