Don't know where to buy neem oil though, hopefully one of your fellow American growers will clear that up for you... - Gr0

![]() ![]() | It's possible, but I don't think Home Depot or Lowe's.would because they sell outdoor plants. It's not listed online. Any place that sells indoor garden supplies would. I found some at a Long's Drugs with a garden section so it shouldn't be too hard to come by. I've never seen or heard of black ants hurting anything though.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | lowes - yes too neem or at least garden safe which is available any and everywhere. "Ants themselves don't do much damage to your plants, however they protect and farm herds of aphids, cottony scales, mealybugs, soft-type scales, and whiteflies. Ants save the eggs of these insects in their nests over the winter and bring them out in the spring. These insects produce honeydew while feeding on your plants which the ants just love. If you closely observe ants streaming up a tree and tending their aphids, you will see them take their legs and rub the aphids which stimulates them to produce the honeydew. This activity is known as "milking" the aphids. The honeydew that is secreted by the insects favors the growth of sooty mold. This is a very destructive black fungus that spreads on plant leaves. The aphids are also responsible for spreading many different viral diseases. What you want to ultimately do is to disrupt the ants from tending to their insect flocks, getting in the house etc. This involves locating and destroying the nest and queen."

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | IMO, xtensity , you could have a bigger problem if ants have invaded your home or dwelling. Sounds like you are in need of an exterminator to rid your home of these pests; who know what else might be lurking around ??? ![]() Nelson ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | although there are ants and plants that have a symbiotic relationship, i doubt very much that ants using your plants as raw material in their farming benefits you or your plants. plus if you have ants in your home.. ants live in colonies of anything from thousands to millions if well established.
