![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | lack of light. revegging. they are the most common reasons i get them. lack of light= not as much energy=fewer blades. revegging anything can happen.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | could be the pheno too. nigel has a crazy example of this with a plant that has three fronds to each petiole, General rule of thumb: more fingers on leaves= the happier the plant is

if anything i noticed more light=more blades. but genetics will only allow so many. for example bag seed clones inside only grew 9 blades. outside in sun all day they grew 11/13 blades. ive never looked at number of blades as sign of a healthy plant. ever?

they count up as they mature [from seed] then they count back down to singles as they go into flower and they count back up when you re-veg I hope that helps some

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | im saying a lack of light...meaning way too little. unsuficient amounts. that will cause leaves to grow just a few blades. ive done it plenty of times with mothers and plants in the shade. i dont think number of blades has to do with health. a plant can be healthy in the shade. it just wont produce as much. saying more blades= healthier plant is like saying the more condoms you have the more you have sex... just doesnt make sence.good rule of thumb for a healthy plant...if its the same green color top to bottom, it is healthy. not more blades=healthier plant. not trying to argue, sure a plant that gets more light will like it, but just because its getting more light doesnt mean it will be healthier. plants use light to grow, light doesnt feed them.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | that rule of thumb crap I picked up on greensmanspage years ago but you missed the preceding sentence about phenos completely btw lol. besides didnt i say happier instead of healthier? like you said, and like I said. the genetics of each particular phenotype predetemine the number of blades on a petiole.Say you have a plant that is genetically predetermined to have 11 blades on each petiole when grown in full sun. Hypothetically, grown in shade the most you can get out of it being 9. The plant is entirely healthy, but the predetermined traits are not fulfilled because the energy is not there. To me a plants happiness analogous to fulfilling its genetic destiny, So therefore would the plant that was grown to its genetic destiny of 11 blades not be the happier plant?
