Suspected Problems - Tip curl, yellow leaves...
permalink

I asked these questions in my grow journal but don't seem to be getting much attention, which is no problem, i understand people are busy, but i just hoped someone might be able to stear me in the right direction.

Hydro/Soiless:
1. Are you growing from seed or clones? Seed
2. How old are your plants? 4 & 1/2weeks into flower
3. How tall are your plants? 1.5ft, 2.5ft
4. What type of hydro system are you using? Passive Hempy and Pro-Mix Soiless
5. What brand/type of nutrients are you using? GH 3 part, GH Liquid Cool Bloom, Waterboy Bud Builder, AN SensiZym, AN Carbo Load, AN Organic B1, G.E.T Fulvic Power
6. What is the Ph of your nutrient solution? 5.8-6.0
7. What is the PPM/EC of your tap water? 220ppm/EC not measured
8. What is the PPM/EC of your nutrient solution? 1400ppm/EC not measured
9. What is the temperature of your nutrient solution? 20-23C
10. Does your PPM/EC show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check? Not checking (Passive hydro)
11. Does your pH show a rise or fall when you do your daily check? Not checking (Passive hydro)
12. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? Not anymore
13. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") 4x90w LED UFO, 2x50w LED Panel, 1x26w 10.0 UVB CFL
14. How close are your lights to the plants?10"
15. What size is your grow space in square feet?
16. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? 22C/50% Lights off / 25-28C/40-50% lights on
17. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? No
18. How much experience do you have growing? 2nd Timer

I have 2 cotton candy ladies (1 Hempy + 1 Pro-Mix Soiless) 4 & 1/2 weeks into flower and I am noticing a bunch of different suspected problems. The lady in the Hempy seems to be doing worse. She has lots of curled up tips that feel crunchy to the touch, to high of heat? Also some of the smaller fan sets are curled down, almost looks like overwatering? I water the hempy every 2nd day, and wait for it to get very light when i pick it up. Pro-Mix is getting water about the same, every 2nd day, i judge by weight.

Both have leaves that are really starting to yellow now. Not sure if that is a sign of some sort of deficiency or the chlorophyll being sucked out of them? I though that only started to happen in the last weeks of flowering, not this early.

Thanks all

Do you mind elaborating on that? Where are you seeing nute burns? What are the indications you are seeing overwatering/overfeeding?

Thanks, i will bring down the ppm by maybe 200ppm and see if things smarten up. Should I be flushing with just water for a couple waterings?

Hempy buckets retain nutes from the last feeding, so only if the burn is mild (like tips clawing down) then I will just run water through it & flush it a bit.

But in cases like yours, I'd tip the bucket & drain as much as possible from the reservoir. Then run pH'd water through it. I can't see the size of your bucket, but I do about a gallon of water. Flush the bucket.

Then lower the PPM of your next feeding - try 200 & see if that works.

Your burning them with something. Your overall ppm is high, but its not extremely high. But something is burning them.

Thanks bluecheese I will try that right now. Going to go buy some RO water, then pH to 5.8 and see how it goes. Thanks alot for the suggestions. Any idea how long i should continue to keep using just water for? a week?
