well my seedling is standing up again and the outer shell of the seed finally came off. The cotyledon leaves are yellow. Is this normal? What could be the problem if not?

Sounds normal. If the shell was on it a while, it wasnt really getting light. Should be green by tommarrow.

Well they're still yellow but I can see the first set of serrated leaves coming in. Does anyone know what this yellowing of the first leaves means? Is this okay/normal? What can I do to correct it if it isnt normal?

There is really no way to correct it. Keep in mind that the cotys contain the nutrients required to get the sprout through the seedling stage and them yellowing is the sign you look for to begin your nute regimine. That said, I believe that the next watering you provide should have 1/8 strength veg nutes. Don't worry, it is a normal part of weed growth and it eventually happens in every single grow. There is nothing wrong with them.

to keep my seedlings green and happy, and to try and minimize my risk of burning them to death i use a couple drops of liquid karma in the water. these seems to get them through long enough to where i feel comfortable adding nutes.
