![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Remedy: flush like a big dog... what is the ph of your feeding after theferts have been added? should be around 6.5.... pH Fluctuation Both of these leaves in figure 3 and figure 4 are from the same plant. It could be over fertilization, but more likely it is due to the pH being off. Too high or too low a pH can lock up nutrients in the form of undisolvable salts and compounds, some of which are actually toxic to the plants. What then happens is the grower then tries to supplement the plants diet by adding more fertilizers, throwing off the pH even more and locking up even more nutrients. This type of problem is seen more often in soil mixes, where inconsistent mixing of the medium's components leads to "hot" spots. ![]() ![]() references of value: Plant Abuse guide Complete Guide To Sick Plants Nutrient Disorder Problem Solver

Thanks for the quick response. The pH of my water before nutes is 7.0. After adding nutes it drops to 5.3-5.8. I use pH Up to get it back to 6.5. I usually only wait about an hour after I mix everything up. Should I wait longer and then take another reading to make sure it settles out at 6.5? I guess I could be over feeding but I have read you can throw as much Alaska at it and not worry. I have only been using 1tablesoon per gallon as opposed to 2 to try and prevent over feeding. DD | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The 90 degree temps will be an issue as well, that's about 15 deg. above optimum. It forces more transpiration meaning your plants will be taking up more and more and more water (along with the ferts in the water) trying to keep up with things and that will contribute to what you are seeing as well. I know nothing about alaska fish ferts. What I will say is to check the ppms because for sure the plant is complaining... You really need to flush in a big way... 3x the volume of the water. Are you feeding every time? Usually in soil folks add ferts to water only every other watering. How often are you watering?

I have been feeding every time since I am only using 1/2 the recommended dose. I will give them a good soaking today and them go to every other feeding. I will also see about getting the temps down. Only issue is this is in an outside shed and I really don't want to spend the $$ on a air conditioner for my shed. I did just see a small window unit at Costco for $77.00 so maybe that will work.
