![]() ![]() ![]() | Well I would love to get the hygrozyme but the closest hydro store is 2 hours away. Should I try the H202? If so, how would I mix it? I just have the 3% stuff.

H2o2 works only if used regularly in moderation, 15-30 mL (1-2 tbs) per gallon of regular 3% added on a daily bases is recommended. It oxidises within hours so you must add it daily. In fact if you could add 1 tbs twice a day that'd be even better. The problem with it is if you forget to use it, since it kills all your beneficial bacteria too, you can really have a problem if you forget to put it in after you've been using it.

But, I have been using hygrozyme for about 6-8 months now and my roots are white as can be and haven't had one issue. But, its $$$$. I am thinking of experimenting with aquashield for a lower cost alternative

... If not, the hot air from the lights will keep all the roots outside the water hotter then the 70 degree res. I like my roots totally submerged with lots of agitation... JG

![]() ![]() ![]() | Well its been two days since I added the H202 and what a difference! I am still going to get some Hygrozyme but this seems to be working. Roots are getting whiter and I even noticed some pieces of roots just floating in the water. Here's a thought. The nutrients I am using are really DARK brown. Could this have stained my roots?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i was going to say, your roots looked healthy to me in that picture. If your using dark colored seaweed type nutrients they can certianly stain the roots. Healthy roots do not have to be white.
