Well my plant is droopy, the lower leaves are all spotty and starting to yellow. It just looks unhappy. Here is a little info. Last night I did a res change. My starting ppm was 63. I added some nutes to bring the total ppm up to 569 with a PH of 5.8. Today I checked everything and here is what I got. PPM is 624 with PH 6.4. Also when I drain a sample of water sometimes I get little pieces of roots with the water. Pics below. I just dont know what to do and am getting discouraged. I know this hobby is all about learning and failure, and this is my first hydro grow. This community has been VERY helpful to me. Can someone suggest what I should do or why my plant looks the way it does? I am mainly concerned about the drooping because I mean the plant looks okay to me other than the lower leaves. I thought drooping was a sign of over watering? How can you over water in DWC?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | okay, yesterday or the day before you changed your res and filled w/ only RO h2o. your plant yellowed up in response. it was hungry. Quote:
now heres the important part: close the grow cab door, lock it, and walk away. go to the pub, smoke a blunt, read a book, or have a marathon wank session, it doesnt matter. as long as you leave the plant alone and let it do its thing. unfortunately, i think you are killing it with kindness. yes, it is nearly impossible to grow a plant to perfection but then again they are suprisingly resilient. 8.06.09ur plant. looks fine 8.12.09your plant. still fine (blurry...maybe) 8.14.09your plant. problems start you were impatient and gave them 630ppm nutes. your ec & pH told you this. 8.15.09your plant, problems cont. 8.17.09your plant, looking happier (little cal def starting @ 5o'clock, imo) 8.19.09your plant, getting pissed off again because u took ALL her food away (after bumping it up, after reducing it...) todayyour plant; stalled because of hunger it looks to me, apart from some minor deficiencies, that it is doing fairly well. also, the pH will never have a chance to stabilize if u are changing ur res everyday. if you really want to see a horror i could post up some old pics of plants that i have grown. makes yours look pampered. ![]() gl. ![]() -iDub edit: noticed ur starting ppm (w/ RO). 600ppm might be high but still LEAVE IT ALONE, IMpersonalO. ...thats for sense.when you addback you can just use h2o to lower ppm until she tells you she wants more nutes. pH, wait, then pH again. u get to pH a lot. lucky u. ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks guys! But why is she so droopy all the damn time? Also in 24 hours the ppm went up. Meaning she was drinking more than eating. I dunno I think I will just leave things be for a while and just ph my water everyday. I mean I have been over nuturing to it I think. But is that what is causing the droopyness? How can I perk her back up.P.S. So based on the following pictures, can I conclude that it has a Ca and maybe an N deficiency? Last edited by W33DM4N420; 08-20-2009 at 04:56 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Your gonna have to sort out your ph, check it in the morning and adjust as needed rinse and repeat at night. . The N deficency was caused by you.... The cal deficency is more than likely becasue of your water too begin with, not to mention the high ph (stay within manufacturers specs), add cal/mag before the nutes first then work up from there. ![]() incogneto-weedo's right your smothering them ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 1. why are the leave wet? You aren't foliar feeding are you? If you are stop. Dont foliar anything right now. 2. Do you have an airstone in your bucket? If not, get one and make sure your water temp isnt like 90 degrees. If it is, lower it 10 degrees or more. Cooler water holds more oxygen which in turn makes the roots healthier. 3. Wait. Lets see how that new veg is going to look. Give it time and like was mentioned earlier, walk away. Its going to be ok. Wait for it

![]() ![]() ![]() | I have one 4 inch bubble stone in the middle and two round stones on each side of that. I am using two 2800 cc/min air pumps. My res temp never goes above 70 degrees. I am not foliar feeding I just lightly mist the plant with distilled water only when it rains outside. I heard that you do this when it's actually raining outside because the plant knows when low pressure is. Just trying to mimic mother nature as much as possible. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 600 ppm is nothing with pure blend pro... bump em up to about 1 or 1 & 1/2 tablespoons per gallon dont worry about tds meter. it will read high, i've run 2000 + without problem using pure blend pro. They look hungry to me. And I've seen those roots you got there in previous posts... they look white. Feed away! dont forget to get the aquashield though
