Cigs work fine, if you smoke or know someone who does. Take about a handful and soak in a quart or so of warm water overnight. Strain them into a bowl by putting a wire strainer with 2 coffee filters in it over the bowl and pour into that, then pour into a spray bottle (get a new one, use this one as a 'poison sprayer')
Also, I forgot- throw some crushed garlic and hot peppers in the water with the butts before you soak overnight if you want- it works as a deterrent for whatever else is around.
Apply every 2-3 days if bugs persist.

Nicotine will break down in about 3 days when exposed to light, so I'd use this up untill 1 week from harvest. You may want to rinse w/ plain water after your last application to get rid of the residue from garlic- or you could have Garlic Bud.

try Azatrol
I usually mix it up so any pests that may exist don't become immune to anything...I used to use just neem, but they adapted. Now I use 3 organic pesticides Azatrol, Organicide and pest out (favorite because it smells nice too), and I haven't seen any bugs in my room for a long time (knock on wood)

If you plan to use nicotine as an insecticide you should be aware that it is a very toxic material. Be sure to wear gloves and avoid any skin contact with the spray solution. Insecticides come with three types of warning labels: Caution, Warning, and Danger (includes a Skull & Crossbones on the label). Nicotine sulphate, which is the commercial version of a "cigarette butt" spray, carries the Danger label. I would never recommend it as an insecticide because of its toxicity.

That is 40% nicotine alkaloid you're referring to. Waaaaaayyyyyyyy stronger than a handful of butts in water. Nicotine can kill in large, pure doses. So can hot peppers. A few butts soaked in water are not even close to poisonous. I've used things like that for years, no ill effects.

It's just like anything else in the spray- police pepper spray is very concentrated form of hot peppers people eat on purpose. But in low concentrations it's harmless to humans.

If it was that bad, I'm sure I would have skin cancer by now- I never used gloves when using the homemade spray.
