This is the weirdest thing. I've seen plants do this when I forgot to plug my pump into the timer and they got dehydrated, but my plants are getting flooded every 4hrs and this one is right there in the tray with it's sisters and all the others are fine. This just drooped out in a matter of a few hours. I looked at it several hours ago and the top was a little floopy but the rest of the plant was fine. I turned it around 180 degrees. I looked at it a few hours later and it looks like shit... Can anyone tell me what is going on with my Cheesewreck cutting? I know the roots are reaching the water in the tray because they're growing out the bottom of the netpot.

Hydro Growers:
1. Are you growing from seed or clones? clones
2. How old are your plants? a month old
3. How tall are your plants? 1 feet
4. What type of hydro system are you using? eb-n-flow in 6 inch net pots with hydroton
5. What brand/type of nutrients are you using? House and Garden A and B and they're root accelerator
6. What is the Ph of your nutrient solution? 5.9
7. What is the PPM/EC of your tap water? RO..near 0.
8. What is the PPM/EC of your nutrient solution? 1.1 EC, that's about 500ppm
9. What is the temperature of your nutrient solution? 70
10. Does your PPM/EC show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check? rise but I think it's evaporation from the fan over the tray when it floods
11. Does your pH show a rise or fall when you do your daily check? rise
12. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? 1 week ago-safers soap
13. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") 600 watt halide conversion
14. How close are your lights to the plants? 2.5 feet
15. What size is your grow space in square feet? 3x6
16. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? 82
17. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? whiteflys but they're not bad on these plants
18. How much experience do you have growing? Pounds!!!

Her healthy sister, same age and same conditions.

Her herself drooping to hell

The Sourjacks also occupying the tray

hmmmm.

How are the roots? Anything you can tell about them as opposed to the other plants?

How deep is your flood cycle? Is it possible that the dip in the tray is keeping that one on the outskirts from getting a solid watering each cycle?

Thanks for responding.

I'll have to check close on the roots but when I looked at it this mornign there were roots just starting to grow out of the bottom of the net pot.

The tray floods deep enough to come about an inch from the top of the netpot and the plant has been sitting in the same spot on the tray for a few weeks with no problems... I moved it to take the photo and to get it out of the HID light.

The roots look good. They're not bone white, but mine never are. But, there are lots of them, about 50 sticking out from the cube and they're about 1 to 2 inches long. That's all new root growth....new since I peeled the paper off the rockwool cube and placed the cube in the netpot a few weeks ago.

Thanks.. What do I look for in the core?
I think this plant is dead! I've never seen a plant die so fast. It looks worse now than it did 12 hours ago. I think I'm going to isolate it, put it in it's own tray and flood it with nothing but water and see if it makes a comeback.
This is really strange... yesterday this was one of my strongest plants.. Has this happened to any of you before?

I found tiny little bugs crawling through the core, and there was only one, difficult to see entry point at the base of the plant. they were very small, and light of colour. but the plant was already in flower for a week or so. but it didn't die off like that...all the sudden a branch just died, and broke off, which is when I found the bugs. there were loads of them, only inside.

maybe there's internal rot at the base? maybe a fungus in the wool?

I'm just shooting thoughts. very strange for how old it is...

The only time I ever had a plant go that fast was serious root rot or the hose is crimped or plugged. Some times i have moved a pot ever so slightly and the hose kinks on the bottom and shuts flow off. I don't know just a thought. Maybe pull the fitting out and see if the fitting is clogged?

Yeah it's strange but here's something even stranger I said stranger By mid day today the other 'healthy' plants started to droop just like the first one... only not as bad. I showed her.... I took 10 cuttings from here and left a few twigs at the bottom ( there was no bugs that I can see.. the roots were a little weird. I inspected the other plants roots and they were bone white..these plants roots were tan.
I suspect that these plants couldn't take the 1.1 EC that the other plants were thriving on and they just decided to die before showing me signs of stress... or the former owner wasn't using 'drip clean' in their diet and when I introduced the 'drip clean' it freaked them out.. they hydro shop guy warned me about this.. but If that's the case I'm suprized that it took 2 weeks to kill the plants..
But it was definately some kind of salt buildup or something as they just went limp like they needed water badly... weird
