Hi guys. I've noticed that no matter what I do my leaves get brown tips once they reach a certain size. It doesn't affect the new growth but all new leaves seem to end up with bad tips when they grow big enough. The brown tips develop into brown edges with margins that curl more & more inwards. I had thought it was a magnesium deficiency since I heard that curled leaf margins were a sympom of this and the older leaves did have yellowing between the veins. I started to add Epsom salts over the last week and the yellowing of the leaves seems to have cleared up a bit but the brown tips continue to come. They curl up as well. The 3 smain symptoms are: brown tips, tips curl upwards followed by the margins rolling inward & it does NOT affect new growth, only occasionally. I am not sure what is causing this and have already exhausted a few possibilities. Hydro Growers: 1. Are you growing from seed or clones? Seed 2. How old are your plants? 1 month 3. How tall are your plants? 2 inches 4. What type of hydro system are you using? Hand-watering daily in Coco Coir 5. What brand/type of nutrients are you using? Coco Canna A + B 6. What is the Ph of your nutrient solution? 6 7. What is the PPM/EC of your tap water? I use Volvic 8. What is the PPM/EC of your nutrient solution? 9. What is the temperature of your nutrient solution? 10. Does your PPM/EC show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check? 11. Does your pH show a rise or fall when you do your daily check? 12. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? 13. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") 250 watt CFL 14. How close are your lights to the plants? 3 inches 15. What size is your grow space in square feet? 3 foot by 3 foot & 10 foot high 16. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? 80F, with a RH of 55% 17. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? A few so I spray my leaves with plant invigorator occasionally 18. How much experience do you have growing? Under a year

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Pics are kind of blurry for me. I dont think you should need to water it everyday. If its been in that pot a month its most likely rootbound. I dont know if the paleness is from overwatering or lack of nutrients? Hard to tell for me. What strength according to your nutrients are you using? And are you letting it dry out?

Also do you think that the brown tips are related to lack of CO2 since my closet is high but very narrow? The door is generally open though so I would have thought it wouldn't be this. I am starting to wonder whether it is bad genetics from Seedsman White Widow so am thinking of germinating my Dutch Passion White Widow

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | In my garden my peak feedings in flower are in the 1.9 range on plants that are 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide...I've never grown hydro from seed, but my cuttings start out at .5 EC when I see roots and then .8 when I start veg, and then about 1.1 to 1.4 (strain dependant) when I put them into flower. By this time they are at least a month old and 1 foot tall bushes with 8 or 10 branches.Tripps says that he NEVER goes over 1.3 EC at the peak of flowering. 1.9 is crazystrong for a plant that size. I'm no cocco expert or grower so I could be wrong, but my humble opinion is that you should flush it for a day or two with only ph'd water, and then start giving it nutes again at about .8 EC - 1.2 EC.... Check with Matt Dredds and see what strength he feeds his 1 month old seedlings, he's a strong feeder. Your closet is not your problem.. that little plant won't take up that much c02. ![]()
