![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I must have created an immune strain of mites, I had good luck with the no pest strips before, but I have 6 of them in there now, plus I've bombed 4 times with Dr Doom pyrethium bombs, seems to be killing the plants more than the mites, webbing everywhere. 4th bomb was last night, I was so pissed I didn't even wait for lights out, we'll see how they look tonight. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Salutations & Hallucinations, Thank God my flowering plants are kept small and manageable through LST training in that they can be easily moved from the grow op to the bathtub for a showering with a pulsating shower sprayer to rid my Ladies and other growers of bugs (damn them spidermites) - I truely hate using any insecticide in my grow.. Usually upon seeing mites crawling on my Girls they go into the shower for a 7 day run of washing weather fowering (lots of fans to evap the moisture) or just in grow. I have had a "HotShot" strip in my grow room (one room grow op) for quite awhile now and what i've read suggests that they be in a room that can be sealed or just kept closed for several days for the fog to consume the area and work.. Thats no open doors, no venting, no open to the outside world and prob no lights on as it may be a fire hazard.. The problem with this is we can not just seal up and forget for several days, our Ladies need out attention on a fairly regilar basis. The in / out of the grow op will not allow the fog to consume the op killing whatever in any given amount of time. My next great adventure of ridding my grow op of these dang mites is to go the natural route with predatory bugs like Ladybugs or predatory mites (the good mites that eat the bad mites) but, again you'd have to close the doors and turn off the fan that vent outside as the good bugs will just leave the area through the exhaust. Keep this in mind when using live critters instead of pesticide. I've read that whenever pesticides are used the next generation of eggs layed by the mites will be immune to that being used to combat them rendering whatever being used useless aganst that generation ... If every three days new hatchlings are coming out our fight will be a never ending battle.. Death to the Mite!!!!!!!!! keeping you in my prays to give strength and patience - Good luck don

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Try everything at once, sans bug-bombs. What I mean is, with 72 plants, order about 10,000 ladybugs, if possible. here's just 1 link....google "buy ladybugs" you get a million pages. b) Live Ladybugs in mesh bag 1500 adults $6.50 for 1500. While you are waiting for the ladybugs, spray all the plants with water to knock off the mites every day. Use a soap spray after the water spray. Then, Vacuum with a wet/dry vac. Make a lower-suction device if needed by putting a 1/2 inch hole in a Vacuum wand and using a duster brush on the end. If the suction is to low, cover part of the hole with a pc. of duct tape. If it's still too strong, make the hole bigger. Now, vacuum all the plants, webbing, underside of the leaves, etc. as many times a day as you can. Vacuum very well- you want to get all that you can. make sure you get the undersides of leaves, this is where they live. Then, before the lady bugs get there, try this: (from ed roesenthals site, and yes he's an ass, but this is what I was gonna say anyway..... Pyrethrum has been used to kill mites. It is a natural pesticide produced by a close relative of the chrysanthemum. The problem with using it is that many races of mites have developed immunity to it. However, it is the first miticide you should try. Cinnamite comes as a concentrate that is diluted and sprayed on the plants. It contains a miticide derived from cinnamon oil. It is very safe and is rated least hazardous. It is quite effective but it doesn't kill the eggs. It should be used every three days for two weeks to make sure all the mites are killed soon after they hatch. It is a contact spray so plants should be dipped or sprayed on the leaf undersides. It is also effective against powdery mildew. Neem oil is a natural miticide derived from the nuts of the Neem tree, which is found in India. It is a mite repellent as well, so some gardeners use it as a prophylactic, spraying it on a weekly basis. I mix neem oil with Cinnamite to eliminate small infections. Cinnamite and neem oil are also used against powdery mildew. For growers who distrust anything commercial, try an ?herbal tea? that acts as a miticide. To each quart of water use a tablespoon each of ground cinnamon, ground clove and 2 tablespoons of ground Italian seasoning. Heat the mixture until it starts to simmer, then turn off the heat. Add 2 tablespoons crushed fresh garlic when the water cools to warm. Let the tea sit until it cools. Strain and save the water using a cloth or coffee filter. Add a few drops of liquid soap or dishwashing liquid to the water. It is ready to be sprayed on the leaf undersides. After spraying the mites off with water, spray it on the leaf undersides. It will eliminate the mites if it is sprayed every three days after the wash. Within two weeks the mites will probably be gone. BUT you have to do it consistently!! I would go for every other day. Also, i forgot- with the wet/dry vac, put some water and a drop of soap in the tank, to drown the mithes you suck up, and keep the vac. in the grow.....no need spreading the mites that get on the hose to another part of the grow. After you knock em down with oils, wash the plants right before you let the 10,000 ladybugs loose. They will keep the remaining mites, if any, from exploding again. Or, just use the oils/soaps. Remember mites can be immune to pyremithrin!

![]() | update: i got in there last night and trim all the underside branches to get more air flow. ( heard that helps) mixed some avid in a gal of water (6 drops) put me gloves on spray the diluted avid onto the glove and from each branch make a circle with your hands around the branch and move upward, that way it stays away from the buds. the the mothers usually likes to stay under the leaf to produce eggs, some damn smart creatures. the mites usually just get stuck on ur gloves and u could do it a couple of times. oh, if your plants are quiet tall like mines (3ft) u cant shower them even with sticks holding them up, they will break. i tried it, dont do it! and today im going in there to fog them again once every 2 days until the end of this week so another update will be up. spidermite destroyers: Spider-mite destroyers are very efficient locators of spider mite colonies in greenhouse and field crops. Actually tiny ladybugs, Sprinkle Spidermite Destroyers Onto Leavesspider-mite destroyers earn their keep by eating more than 40 mites per day as adults. Use these predators in addition to spider-mite predators (predatory mites) when spider-mite populations are especially high. Spider-mite destroyers eat all stages of spider-mites, and find new infestation sites on their own by flying. Life cycle (from egg to adult) takes about 18 days at 70°F., with a total lifespan of perhaps 9 weeks. As adults, female spider-mite destroyers lay up to 15 eggs per day. 100 spider-mite destroyers is enough to get a colony of them started in an average home greenhouse, as they'll breed from there. Spider-mite destroyers are too new to have established preferred temperature ranges, but they're known to survive temperatures over 100°F in field crops.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Good morning, I have a cardholder friend whom I originally got my "spider-mites" from in the form of clones given to me who have been for the last two years (and finally got rid of them early this year) battling spider-mites in there six (6) room grow op.. They tried everything .. Pyrethrin, Doktor Doom, sprays, washing, rinsing everything thought of and for two years they battled on.. All these products work as long as the bugs aren't immune to whats being used. The problem i'm having are these bugs, two years ago were sprayed with all these products and there offspring that hatched from them (now two years later) have an immunitiy to whatever i'm using. Until some new mariculous pesticide is made that will combat them theres nothing I can do in my op. "HotShots" work if the room is closed up.. Sprays and such work if you consistly work with your plants.. Chemicals work if you don't mind smokin them.. I do! Someday, after ordering predatory bugs will my grow op be rid of these infectious little fuckers.. Good luck and have a Better day don

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'd never use it on growing plants cuz it is nasty stuff, but if I ever get an infestation of spider mites, I'm shutting the grow rooms down and using Avid. Yeah, it's made by Syngenta but I hear it is the only thing guaranteed to rid spider mites.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A few friends have reported great success with Floramite, I ordered some and will report. Can't use within 28 days of harvest, though. You can't purchase Avid without an Agricultural permit where I'm at.
