![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Me, knocks them back in veg, but when I have 24 big plants in my small flower room, it's just not practical to spray them repeatedly. And with a 100+ plant count in spring, you never can get them all. BTW, as EMJ pointed out to me the other day, I never had them til I did that "Side by side soil comparison " thread.

I hate those things. Just had 2 kill a 6ft Hawiian Snow girl cause she was getting over run by those bastards. DO NOT GET ANY SOAP OR SPRAYS DIRRECTLY ON THE BUDS! THE TASTE AND SMELL WILL BE RUINED. I only painfully know from experience. A product called Knock Down works really good, but again, NOT ON THE FLOWERS. Make a batch, soak some towels in it and start hand wiping leaves, fans, pumps, etc. Also works a sa repellent for the future. Keep all pets(if you have any) out of the room! Good luck in the fight! ![]()

![]() | update: well i bought a fogger (pyrethrian) went in at lights out (noon) turned on the green light to see my way around the place. turned off all the fans place the fogger in the middle of the room and let it loose. went back in at lights on (6:30 pm) and all looks good them little creatures are dead, well atleast all the ones i can see with the naked eye. 2 days later went back to check and their back but this time not much of them but enough to bother u to were lets go get another fogger so i went and got another and bombed it again, so well see what happens. looks like imma have to bomb the place every 2/3 days until all the eggs hatch and all is under control before harvest. planning to stop fogging 2 weeks before harvest. happy growing and watch out for these creature.

try this. you'll be so happy you did. it's usable up to 6 hours before harvest and does nothing but help your plant. ZERO negative effect, no matter how far into flowering you are, 100% organic, and even helps plants in stress, with or without mites. you can visibly see the leaves look better after using it. eggs, and adults are gone by the next morning. no hype, like snow in the sun, I've got first hand experience. I should document it, this is by far not only the most effective spray for mites I've used (haven't used avid, and wouldn't on plants) but also the softest for the plants. can even be used on fresh cuttings. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I bought clones. In oakland. They had mites and it sucked. That was one year ago and I still have them (well their 10000th generation by now.) Name a product. I've tried it. Just resorted to avid. Sprayed twice within a week with 1/4 tsp/gal. They are still moving a week after application, it didn't kill them. Get this... I had finally "got rid of them" for a 2-3 months with obsessive misc treatments. The mom was mite free, and new plants were started and mite free. The VERY minute the mom was thrown into flower, after the FIRST 12 hours of darkness the mites were hopping into action. even if you think they are gone, in my case they were in a hibernation state waiting for the actual flip. I read this long before it actually happened to me and dismissed it as hippy mumbojumbo, but now I can't deny it. And now they won't die with avid. I wonder if they would have EVER re-emerged if the mom stayed in veg and didnt have a light cycle change? I've also read that bay area mites are super-mites, and practically resistant to everything including avid. Hm no wonder, you walk to the grocery store and it smells like 15 different strains on your way there. Think about how many mites and growers there are and how many people half treat with pesticides like a bad antibiotic schedule and only half finishing them. Basically, you and me my friend are very screwed. ![]() *edit* also, if you use any pesticides, or foggers-- anything that would hurt mites, it will hurt the predatory mites as well, they are still mites, the only difference is they eat different things. IMHO predatory mites are just an organic solution from people scared of chemicals, used more for control than elimination Last edited by g1ithc; 09-22-2009 at 02:00 AM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Good (I hope) morning, So ... my medicard holder friend with the year long, $2500+ (spent on pesticides for a year and a half) spider mite battle has finally come to an end.. We are a jumping up and down in excitement.. She handed me a little jar of oil and said she used this to spray her plants (all of them) in a couple of sessions within a week and hasn't seen shit moving since now in this second week. She swore to me that it worked killing everything adults, larve and eggs in just two or three applications.. I aksed whats in it?? she replied it's called "Pyola" She instructed me to mix 1 tsp to a qaurt of water and spray the undersides of the leaves of the plants first than spray the tops. Allow to drip dry and (she thought) in my grow op because its so small (hobby level being an Oregon cardholder) i'd only need prob one (1) treatment.. Yesterday, I sprayed my Grow area plants and Mothers - today, i'm spraying my flowering Ladies... We'll see I'll keep you posted as to weather or not I see any movement in a few days.. I googled "Pyola" and found it to consist of Canaola oil, Pyrethium and something else I forget, its red floating in the oil looks like Cyan pepper or something.. My friend now in her second week hasn't seen anything and their plants are growing happily again.. She said it can be sprayed on flowering plants early in the flower session but, wouldn't apply if it were later in the cycle (closer to harvest) I've mentioned before about my dislike of pesticides but, this (even though it consists of Pyrethium) seems more organic "plant based" Have a Great day and GL in the battle don

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If I had to guess, I'd say the flecks are cinnamon. Cinnamon can be added to sprays for mites. It's for sale HERE. Never used it myself, but heard good things about cinnamon. Evidently the mites can't become immune to it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have also been battle'n mites much like..g1itch. ....sometimes it looks like I have almost won and then they pop up again. I am gonna continue to mostly use a rotation of neem/soap type sprays along with an occational ISO-water spray (I feel ISO must suck to get sprayed with. I know I dont want it in/on some areas of my body and would affect my health if repeated frequently, ISO spray is mentioned in the book included in my signature). I dont know if this is a winnable battle for me, but I dont want mites out of control ....I have not seen the results of how bad mites can damage plants in person, but the pics look nasty.
