our light is a 400 watt hps with a maxibright reflector (the basic one), temp goes no lower than 72 and no higher than 82 even though it used to be really hot i got an extracter fan which sorted it out. we are growing in soil with a mix of 4parts multi p compost 1 part pearlite and 1 part sand. the light is about 14-15 inches away from the leaves and ph is around 7. cheers, p.s. oh yeah, i forgot to mention apart from the single shiva shanti 2 the rest are skunk#1.

![]() | It probably is overwatering. It is worse to overwater than to underwater, always remember that. Waint until the soil is compleatly dry before you water again. If you see that the leaves drop a little, is time. Give them just enough for the soil to be evenly moist, not soaked. The seedling does not need fertilizer for the first two to three weeks, after that you should give her just a little. A vegetative growth fertilizer will do. Use something like 15-15-15 Also, place the light about 20" form your plants for the first three weeks. Then you can place it about 6" away. Hope this helps, good luck ![]() Last edited by metalkino; 09-10-2001 at 08:05 AM..

![]() | hi all, those little yellow spots have turned brown and some of the leaves have gone kind of crispy. put a temp gauge under the light were the plants are and the temp was at 92f after we moved the light to about 21 inches. any ideas would be really great because they dont look like they can take much more of this. cheers,

![]() | hi all, i have to say thanks to everyone who helped me . we have now moved the light up to about 30inches and the temp under the light now is about 86f. when i went to my freinds house this morning they were looking much better already and still have plenty of new growth coming through. the shiva looks the worst. one more thing just to be sure does anybody think we should be feeding our plants yet, they are ten days old. cheers,

![]() | imho you have the light's too close to the seedlings, you say your running a 400 w hps? you should have it about 2' away from the plant because it's too much direct heat. move the light up and try putting a fan near the plant. i wouldn't start fert right away i started mine at about 4 weeks in and using 20-20-20 at 1/4 strength....but don't worry about that now, try and get your light situation fixed up first....if your leaves have turned a crispy brown than it's a light prob especially with a 400 watter. .......peace
