Very good...so what is it? I am most certainly not an entomologist so anything I say can be wrong! I know that the 6 legs doesn't necessarily make it an aphid...that was based on the pear-like shape. Ticks for example have 6 legs as infants, then develop an additional pair as adults. Nature is a crazy mother like that. I was basically just throwing out a guess to keep the topic alive so someone can id it. Thanks again for the correction. I am always welcome to new information!

And yes, it's just Bender, baby!

Although the bed bug buzz posted is the most similiar i've seen, there are some difference to note between the two.

i wont mention coloration of the actual bug, since that can vary completely in different locations/species

the first major difference between the bug posted, and the bud bug, is the fact the hind legs don't have the "ridges" that can be recognized on a cricket type insect. Bed bugs do not have these "ridges"'

also, the bug posted does not have any visible antennae, bed bugs however do

also the head shape, bed bugs have a pronounced segmented heads while the bug posted has a rounded "no head" mentioned earlier

I have no idea what it IS, but i am fairly certain of what it's NOT. I would hate for someone to run out and buy unnecessary products thinking it's possibly something when its another !

I missed the part in the OP's post that it was found on a bud. The bedbug picture I posted has antennae, I cannot tell whether the OP's specimen has antennae at all. I'm not sure what you meant by cricket type legs, g1ithc, I don't see any similarity at all or I missed your point. The rear legs appear segmented or ridged. I agree that I am not certain on the identity of the bug. I'm throwing out suggestions like anyone else. Don't panic, give us more information. Give us a better picture, youngsta, and what is the size of the bug?

The only other option I could suggest is a nymphal stage of a true bug or beetle.

the ridgedness of the cricket's legs

magnification of its legs, the bug posted had similiar "ridges" on the legs like crickets do.

Thanks all for trying to help. The bug has been disposed of, So unfortunately more pics are not possible. Hope you have a good imagination!
It was a little shorter but fatter than a grain of rice, had a few hairs all over his body.
His/Her head was part of her body, its mouth was too small to tell but I did not notice any probiscus or pinchers, looked like 2 eyes but I could be wrong.
No wings, no tail, not sure about antennae.

You should have seen some of the results I came up with trying to find him online though. Fleas, Bed bugs, a bunch of bugs I've never even heard of, and one site even said my plant has pubic crabs!

Well, Youngsta, I'd like you to try website that has been a fave of mine for years.

You can ask the folks at WhatsThatsBug?. Keep in mind that bugs are rarely documented in nymph form, so if this is a 'youngsta' (ba-dum psssh! ) you might not get any verification even from those in the know.

If you have a minute, type in "Painted Grasshopper" in the search field.
