I was checking out the girls this mornin and found this guy on one of the plants. Anyone know what he is? I've got him in quarantine for now in case he is beneficial. And is this thread in the correct forum?

I actually spent a good bit of time browsing through insect/pests and couldn't find that one!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That there is an aphid...since it has 6 legs. Adult ticks have 8 legs. Aphids are characterized by being small and pear shaped, and can often come in a variety of patterns and colours. They are harmful to plants!! Kill it! ![]() Check out this post: Good Bugs...an interactive guide for info on good and bad bugs. Self promotion is awesome!Last edited by JustBenderBaby; 09-26-2009 at 10:54 PM.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | these are aphids: ![]() ![]() imho, the bug you found isn't an aphid. too large anyway. there are over 2000 species of aphid, but they seem to differ anything with 6 legs is considered an "insect", its not an aphid because it has six legs . an arachnid has 8 legs, and so do ticks- which is why ticks are classified as arachnids
