Hydro Growers: 1. Are you growing from seed or clones? Seeds 2. How old are your plants? About 3 weeks 3. How tall are your plants? Roughly 2 Inches 4. What type of hydro system are you using? DWC/Bubbler 5. What brand/type of nutrients are you using? Cutting Edge Solutions - 3 Part 6. What is the Ph of your nutrient solution? 6 7. What is the PPM/EC of your tap water? Unknown 8. What is the PPM/EC of your nutrient solution? Unknown 9. What is the temperature of your nutrient solution? 68-70 Degrees 10. Does your PPM/EC show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check? Not Available 11. Does your pH show a rise or fall when you do your daily check? Slight rise, if any. 12. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? No. 13. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") Household CFL, currently at 156 watts 14. How close are your lights to the plants? 8 Inches 15. What size is your grow space in square feet? 3.5 sq. ft. 16. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? From 74 at night to 82 during the day. 17. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? No. 18. How much experience do you have growing? None, first grow and first time with hydroponics. So over the weekend, I left my grow unattended for about 3 days. During those 3 days, the reservoir level in my DWC/Bubbler system fell a good amount, but did not leave the plants dry. I have a feeling that I had initially filled the system up with too much water causing overwatering. During this time, my plants had a little growth spurt. When I went to drain and refill the reservoir today with fresh water and new nutrients, I noticed that my larger plants have some discoloration to the leafs. I took a picture of one plant to show what the discoloration looks like, but the majority of my plants are suffering from the same problem. These are roughly 3 week old plants that were first introduced to nutrients 5 days ago. I'm running Cutting Edge Solutions 3 part nutrients with tap water. I'm at about 1/8th strength on the nutrients, adding 1mL of their Micro and Bloom, and 2mL of their Grow to a reservoir that is about 2 gallons. I referred to the "The Complete Guide To Sick Plants,pH and Pest Troubles" thread, and maybe thought it could be a nitrogen deficiency, but I'm not quite sure. ![]() Can someone help me out? Thanks!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | looks like pH Fluctuation: Both of these leaves in figure 6 and figure 7 are from the same plant. It could be over fertilization, but more likely it is due to the pH being off. Too high or too low a pH can lock up nutrients in the form of undisolvable salts and compounds, some of which are actually toxic to the plants. What then happens is the grower then tries to supplement the plants diet by adding more fertilizers, throwing off the pH even more and locking up even more nutrients. This type of problem is seen more often in soil mixes, where inconsistent mixing of the medium's components leads to "hot" spots. ![]() Figure 6 (left) and Figure 7 (right) Info from The Cannabis Cultivation GrowFAQ - The Internet Hub for Marijuana Cultivation - powered by phpMyFAQ 1.6.5.

No nutrients until the cotyledons start yellowing (and they have), and then 1/4 strength nutrients. i still correct the pH even without nutrients, although i heard without adding nutrients pH correcting is unnecessary (but i don't know about that.. makes sense, but i don't want to experiment! )since the cotyledons ARE yellowed and almost crispy, i would try 1/4 strength of whatever is recommended on the label for awhile, and see how they do could also try lowering the pH just a smidgen, 5.8ish instead of 6.0ish

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | In soil seedlings do ok without food for a lot longer than in hydro. Being this is your first hydro grow I can see why you were hesitant to feed them at such a young age. What I do with seedlings in hydro is add a about a 1/8th of recommended dose of grow nutrients and watch the plant to green up. Ph for hydro is 5.8, so try to get that dialed in. Good luck on your hydro grow!
