I messed up the timer and set it to 24 hour light for a whole week The plants were about 5 weeks into flower and now the canopy looks like complete crap with new shoots coming out of the once perfectly round tops.So far I just set it back to the correct light cycle and picked off a few of the new shoots .I am aware of the added risk now of hermies. I am assuming this is going to add weeks onto the flower time and they will never re-gain their former glory ![]() Does anyone have any input ? Thanks

![]() ![]() | 5 weeks into flower is a really bad time for that to happen. How long does your strain take to finish in flowering? I am thinking that you will just have to deal with funky hash finger buds on this crop.

I had that happen to me this month and it cost me thousands of big ones. First off, you'll never make the mistake again. Secondly, say by to 50% of your yield right now. The quality of my product was okay but big fat buds were nowhere to be seen. Also I added about 2 weeks to flower time although the odd shoots on some plants finished a bit early. I had various strains in various weeks. If they are 6/7/8 weeks it is usually late enough the buds are preserved but just don't super fatten, but for 5 weeks that is likely the worst you could do because now the buds are all mutated with those rubbery 2 or 2 prong leaves. Meditate and come to peace with the experience and accept the yield loss. Worked for me and sorry to hear the news. BM

![]() | Thanks for the replies guys ![]() bmiquet did you just leave all the new shoots or pick them off at all ? Did they fill out at all or just carry on being light and fluffy leafy messes ? After giving myself a few uppercuts I pretty much just did come to the conclusion that "shit happens " .

![]() | I just left them. I found some of them finished really quickly (which was okay because I could put someone healthier in her spot) and the rest just didn't fatten like they should. Trimming was a bit different, but it seemed to be okay to just leave them, let them finish their cycle and focus on the bright harvest potential of the future groups. Some of the puffy ball looking ones you are referring to (usually beefy colas that are fluffy masses) are the ones I am dealing with right now. I am torn between waiting for them to finish (they seem to be taking longer than the rest of the plant) and just cutting them down prematurely. I did test smoke some of mine and the quality seemed good. I wouldn't let them clog up your system if you have newbies ready for the light space I would retire them early. THey won't get fat but they should get resinous--most of mine did after giving them an extra 1-2 weeks which may or may not have been worth it. Hope that helps. Quote:
