![]() | Thank you for all your advice! But I do have a few more questions... Any adivce on how to get my room temp down? I have one heavy duty fan already and could add another but I feel like that's just moving the hot air around more??? Since the outside temp is dropping my room temp has gone down to about 83 degrees but I'm worried that's still too hot. Also is it ok to trim off the already dead and obviously dying leaves, I dont want my plants to waste effort on already dying leaves? Sorry but here's another question...Is it normal to take so long to recover from the damage I've already done? I did the flush and have only been giving strait water for over a week and my plants dont seem to be recovering, I've actualy lost more leaves? BTW I got a ph and water meter so have been confirming that my plants actually need more water before giving it to them. I've included a few pics to demonstrate my plants current state ![]() ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Did you flush them? I don't think just water is gonna help that out right away. What kind of soil are you using and at what strength did you feed with those nutes? On your next watering you need to run luke warm water through the top, and just let it run out of the drain holes. It helps to do this is a bath tub where you can see the color of the water that is running off. The water will no doubt be urine yellow, keep running water through the pot until it is clear. You don't need a moisture meter. Water until water is coming out of the bottom of the pot, each time you water. In a 5 gallon pot, I water with 1.5 gallons and I get just enough run off. You cannot water too much, only too often. Feel the weight of the pot when its dry, then feel it when it is full watered. Practice this technique and you can trash the meter. 83 is a fine temp, humidity is fine too. You need to concentrate on what you are giving your plant. The flush will help remove old salt bonds, and help you start with a clean slate. Old leaves generally do not repair themselves, you have to look at the new growth for changes.

![]() | I didnt flush the way you advised, I didnt use nearly as much water as your sugesting so I'll go back and give them a Real flushing(the bathtub idea is great! I'll be sure to do that.) As for soil I just used the cheapest organic potting soil and added perlite to the mix.(I know going cheap is not what I would have preffered to do but unemployment is a b@#ch-gotta work with what we got right). The plants seemed very happy but the growth rate slowed way down so I started adding nutes(miracle-gro 24-8-16). Things went down hill from there. Since then I have lowered my lamp alot closer to the plants(but not too close, I checked the heat comming off the lamp against my hand). Have only wantered twice but not till water came out the bottom, so I will do that from now on. I've trimmed off the dead and dying leaves and basically crossed my fingers and hoped. Based on the advice I recieved here I am going to change the nutes to Pete's all purpose plant food (20-20-20) and will not be using the miracal gro. I will also do the Real flush on all three plants and go from there. As always thank you all for your advice, dont know what I'd do without this website!

I've used pete's 20-20-20 before (have it for other plants and ran out of my other nutrients) and it was alright for vegetative growth, very strong though so be careful how much you mix, although if you haven't purchased it yet there are much better nutrients you could be using for the same price with dead and dying leaves, if they are shriveled and come off right in your hand when you touch them without plucking, they are good to go-- IMHO its best to let the plant leech the entire leaf before removing it.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I"m not a soil grower, but that looks like standard issue nute burn to me. Might want to add another straight watering between nute waterings. And don't water unless they are dry at least an inch into the soil, also what kind of soil mix?? anything like pearlite etc in there to soften the soil up any??

![]() | Great news! I think the Real flush did the trick, my plants look like they are recovering. All the new growth looks healthy and I only have a few damaged leafs left.I've included pics to show my plants recovery so far. ![]() Thank you everyone for your great advice! I'd like to send out an extra thank you to PipeWorks-you saved my plants lives!!! I'd also like to send out an extra thank you to g1ithc-you Rock!!! g1ithc~I look into some other nute options than pete's, something a little weaker and all natural, to avoid nute burn in the future. Thank you again! ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Glad to hear things are doing good. Fish Emulsion is pretty common, I even see it posted on Ace Hardware's website. If you have a garden supply shop or hydro shop around your area check there. That will be good for veg, but you are going to get a bloom fert for flowering. Make sure you are keeping your pH in check, give good waterings when the plant is dry (feel the weight of the pot, water till water is coming out of the bottom), Start out feeding at 1/4-1/2 strength what is recommended, slowly step up if you feel the plant is liking it, and feed every other watering. EDIT: Also, make sure you are getting something that will throw some Calcium and Magnesium in the mix.... I recommend CalMag Plus by Botonicare.
