I have some yellowing with white streaks on the leaves of my week old plants and wondering if any of the experts have some causes/reasons for this to occur.

1 )Seeds (35)- Silver haze that were soaked for 12 hours and then place in medium
2) Medium- General Rapid Rooter that was pre soaked in a 1/4 strength clonex solution with distilled water. The media was then lightly squeezed to get rid of the excess h20 and the seeds were then placed in the holes and lightly covered.
3) Germinated after 2 days 30/35 showed with 25 looking strong
4) Watered with distilled water when needed only when "slightly" dry medium was evident "no standing water"
5) Tempt- Heating pad "Low" with 3 thick towels on top and the air tempt between 65-75 F
6) Height- 2"
7) Light- 1 T5
The plants roots/stems look great but the leaves have a yellow/wt look to them in some places and on about half of the seedlings. The other half do not have the discoloration yet and wondering if they all can be saved. My first thought was using the mild clonex solution to soon. My second thought was that the p.h is off and my third thought was to cool of a tempt. Again the roots look insane and the seeds were quick to jump. Any help is good help and B.T.W this is not my first rodeo when it comes to growing but is the first time using this kind of medium. Graciass.

Here are a few pics.. Note they were just watered !

they look fine to me.. But if you do see alot of yellowing I would get them into a good soil or your preffered medium ASAP.. Those plugs have like 0% food for your plants. I would tell you to lightly mist the plugs with a very dilluted mix of nutes and water.. But this is really tricky ( overnuting this young is VERY easy.. Its really not recomended to nute for the first 2 weeks ) .So the best option is to transplant ASAP.

their should be enough food in the cotys to get them sprouts thru the next several days to a week.....so i dont think it's a nute def thing......maybe it's an environment issue......but if the roots are growing healthy and nice then just like cali said, maybe a transplant to their new home/media would do them some good.....other than that they look good!

Thanks guys for your advice and thoughts. They seem to be getting worse by the hour and I'm afraid that i might have to start over. Could it be that i zapped them with that first nutrient bath or maybe the p.h is too high ? Could uneven room tempts. cause this or what about too much light 24/0 ? I'm at a loss for words and solutions so any thoughts will help.

flush with ph-adjusted water to get then nice and drenched to help flush out as much crap as you can, then put em under a humidity dome or saran wrap, keep humidity as high as possible and keep temps 80F-ish and place under some CFL lighting and wait for em to recover Good Luck!

I dunno...they look ok to me. I use Rapid Rooters for popping my seeds and you are following the method I've used with success. A couple of things...

-I generally toss 'em in the chosen medium once I see the roots. Since I've been using Hempy, I have generally given them a homeopathic dose of nutes - very weak. But -and I don't know my ass from my elbow on this - I've been using tap water and I'm wondering whether you are depriving them of valuable minerals, etc. by only giving them distilled at this point.

- I used to give my Rapid Rooters a very weak -VERY WEAK-. dose of rooting thang and on occasion Liquid Karma. I don't really think that made a difference one way or the other. Lately, they've just been getting water. But keep in mind, that plants rooted in soil have food readily available...I'm not sure if that's the case with the bark material used in Rapid Rooters.

-to be honest, by the time they get roots, I give 'em a little food. I used to be very circumspect about NOT feeding the seedlings and almost lost some. If they are yellowing, they might be looking for nitrogen. I would probably hit 'em with a very weak dose of food and see if they green up. I would also consider giving 'em a VERY WEAK hit of Cal/Mag - I think that has nitrogen in it, as well..

-not that it makes a difference but I generally water the plugs from the bottom and only when they appear dry. I like watching the water wick up the plugs but I also find that when they first start browning with moisture at the top, they are sufficiently hydrated - so it's a good measure.

Also, I would be concerned about flushing 'em at this point. You don't want to rot the roots or the stem.

And oh yeah...Get your pH trip together. It's time.

Just gut - not knowledge. But there you have it.
