Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? nope 13. How much experience do you have growing? I've got some experience, but not much success- still very much a novice That's a nice little list to follow I guess first off If you would like to see my plants the day before this happened, take a look at my post in the journals "phrogggrow" so, basically, I watered them and the next morning 3 of them have crisp leaf edges (still green) that kinda make the leaves look curled. The fourth is fine looks wonderful and it's the same strain as two of the other plants. Another thing I just noticed is that the cotoleydons are getting eaten up (by the plant) on those three and are just starting to yellow on the biggest most vigorous one. I don't think it could be burn from droplet magnification, I'll try and get some pics up tomorrow. I would love any input you have to offer. thanks phrogg

I saw your post earlier but didn't really know what to say. I lost a lot of seeds before finding this site, they would get to be about 3 inches and just die. I lurked and read over a month before I posted.... and when I was ready to grow, it was a great success! (for a first timer, anyway )Do not be discouraged, read and read, and I promise, soon everything will come second nature to you! ...follow the examples laid before you......

I don't want to sound harsh, I've been reading this site and any other info i can get my hands on for about 3 years now, basically I've never heard of anyone using str8 compost and peat/humus, but I've also heard from several sources that it is almost impossible to overfert with organics (probably speaking of blood meal, bone meal and such) but anyways, I've kinda just been looking for someone to confirm from first hand experience that my dirt is too strong. I just don't understand why people always wnat to tell me to read, it seems like a standard answer when they are the first post in every forum (pretty hard to miss). sorry, i just don't like when my plants are sick and people tell me to read more, one more day, one more week, isn't gonna show much more than 3 years has (don't get me wrong - I'm still a novice and understand that one more minute of reading could change everything) just gets me worked up not getting threads replied to. have a nice day PS TCC - why were your seedlings dyin? what did they look like etc. phrogg

I didn't mean to sound like I was telling you to just go read.... The thing is, when I read someone say that they have planted 5 seedlings in a single 5 gallon bucket.....sounded new-b to me....but oh well Phrogg, there are a number or reasons your plants are having issues, all you can do it read, try to follow someone else's example.....again I apologize, it just seems with all the reading you have been doing, you would have already had more of a clue.... ![]()

i normally wouldn't write something like that sorry what issues? the only one i can plainly see is rich soil my enclosure is made for a 5 gal bucket it traps light in the top, yes i could put seedling trays on top of it but that just causes bound roots, this way roots can get as big as they want i move them young never had any problems with tangling and that's the way I've always done it, I'm prone to routine. If someone can tell me a problem seedlings in a big bucket would cause except competition for nutes or tangled roots. then i would be happy to try the normal way of doing things. more of a clue about what? dirt? pots? you have to look back to learn from mistakes or successes for that matter, looking forward only makes you try dumb stuff, like making your soil mix half compost and half peat/humus (me) phrogg
