My bottom leaves keep on dying. At first they get lighter and lighter in color, then when they reach complete yellow, they droop and fall. This keeps happening, and my bottom 3 sets are losing color. What should I do?

Setup:
-2'x4' closet
-150W HPS
-Flat white walls
-1 gallon pots
-regular potting soil
-water when 1" down it is dry
-fert (10-52-8) every week or so

My plants are 2 weeks into flowering and are starting to get pretty filled up with hairs, I love it. I suspect my soil is the problem, but what could I do? Thanks.

Smoke on.

It could be the soil...I don't know why though. Here is my take on it.

- 8 square ft. with 150 watt HPS=18.75 watts per square ft. lighting could be a problem.

- 1 gallon pots usually aren't big enough. How big is the plant? How deep does the pot go?

- Ventilation could also be a problem, how are you venting them?

Post back and I'll try to help.

If your flowers are healthy, and the tops of your plants are still faring well I think your plants are just maturing. The use of a high P fertilizer with lower N is possibly causing your plants to cannibalize the N from the lower, less important leaves and transport it to the tops for the production of flowers. It may be nature.
