I can't believe what just happened. I was bending the stem of my plant over, to strengthen the stalk, when *SNAP*, the STEM BROKE. It didn't break off completely, but it did start hanging down at a 45 degree angle. I immediately staked it to support it, but I don't know what else to do. PLEASE HELP!! I've worked so hard on this little beauty to see her go like this!

Stats on the plant:

Age: unknown, estimate 5-6 wks
Type: Sativa
Setup: Soil, flourescent lights
Stage: Vegetative
Break point: up top, in the upper 1/3 of the plant (right below where the cola would be)

Please help me save her!

Your best bet at this point might be to prune off the part above the break... and be more careful next time

Damn it, I was afraid you'd say that.

Well, there's always the next batch of seeds...

Well just snip off the broken part and keep it under 24/0 and let it start to veg out again and it'll be like you just topped it.

Saved again! I read someone's post somewhere about using tape to fix a broken stem or branch. Well, I tried it, and it worked! There's even new growth at the top, so it looks like all is good!

Thanks to whomever suggested the tape!!

Yeah sometimes you can mend it, usually if the area that broke is still the flexible green part. If it was the woody part I'd say "SMOKE IT UP". Well glad it worked for you!!
