| Alright ya'lls, the sooner the reply the better.. I have a couple plants growing outdoors in a pot that'll hold up to 5 plants.. (nice big fat pot) my 2 plants are spaced far enough apart (min. 1 square foot). about a week ago they were looking really healthy, except kind of leaning over too far, since then i've cut the water they've been receiving by 2/3's.. since then they've straightened up, but they started getting little faded spots... my stepdad called this 'plant rust' .. sounds like bullsh!t to me.. 1) what are these spots? Im narrowing it down to 2 things, lack of water, OR excessive heat.. im in cali and it's been in the triple digits the past week or so..100+ degrees during midday.. also, today some new nastiness appeared, very tips of single finger leaves yellowing, some of the larger leaves curling upwards at the edges, looking dry. and it looks like an insect took a sh1t on one of the newer leaves then took a couple nibbles of it for breakfast.. (looks slimy) and deformed. not a hole bitten through it tho. 2) what's the curling and yellowing about? (natal leaves are yellowing also, though im not as worried because they yellow and fall off anyway right?) 3) what's the slime? i had a couple white flies but ive used some tomato & herb spray. Doesnt stick long, not harmful to plants or harvest, insect killer stuff and got rid of the insects. So to sum it up, little 'rustic' looking spots, tips yellowing, edges curling, insect? slime.. get back to me asap. thx -kush | ||

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Let's get your babies some help in The Nursey 1) It could be leaf rust. Your dad is right; it could be that. They sell fungicide sprays for leaf rust to treat them with. The is sucha condition. BUT, The excessive heat will damage the leaves as well as you are describing (or at least it sounds like it could be that) I know it is true for indoor grows where the plant is too hot and too close to the light. 2) Slimy .... maybe slugs?? 3)Slug Slime more than likely but just guessing I grow indoors so I could be way off here but those are just my toughts. Maybe the outdorrs growers can enlighten you. LB [This message has been edited by lilbuddie (edited July 31, 2000).] | ||
