I was trying to post this one in the day database crashed with no success, after that i forgot till today so there it goes... hope it helps someone...

It all started about 25 days ago, around day 15 of 12/12...

I was feeding them with 12-55-6, water PH between 6.5 and 7, so actually around 6.5 with the super P; full dose in the last 4 waterings, all was looking near perfect and looking to be a piece of cake till harvest day, if it wasn't ME! (i hate saying this )

I decided to flush them cause they were eating to much for my liking, better safe then sorry so i went to the shop in the corner and got myself some natural spring water like i generaly do for the seedings; they didn't have the same brand so i used another excellent to drink as well.
At the same time, i was polinatting my 2 best C99 females, so i removed the fan from the flowering room for 2 days to avoid problems.

Next days 2 things started to happen; The lower leaves started yellowing like the plant were canibalising and the tops started to exibit some burning in the tips of the new grow and top of the main colas.

My first tought was "ok, the 600W HPS is to violent to be 2' away from the tops without a fan, i will correct that tomorrow, no problem " and "they really eat well, i know i gave them time to fully develop the root system in the 6.5 gallon pots, but i can't stop feeding for a week without they asking for more , great, less problems " so i started preparing the next feeding and prepared the fan, so far so good

With the fan already in the flowering room, i feed them and the yellowing in the lower leaves stoped BUT the leaves started exibiting a (lets say) not normal/healthy behaviour; the top ones started loosing color wile the lower ones clearly started exibiting some differences in shape...

Time to rethink everything, what can it be ????
I decided to give Lilbuddie a call cause 2 heads are better then one and showed him some pics...
His reaction was simple "Did you checked your PH?"
ANSWER: NOP, i completly forgot about that but the PH of the water... i've been using... is great (time to remember tap water PH! )... like 7.0, considering that super P drops the PH about 0.5, I’m playing safe…
WRONG!!!!!!!!! Mineral water PH is around 5.6!

HOW COULD I FORGET ABOUT THAT??????

I was the one pushing the PH down and worst, i didn't even remember to check that
As a consequence of low PH, i guess babies couldn't get enought nutes and so the yellowing in the lower leaves that actually got better with the next feeding cause not only i used tap water (PH 7.0) but organic nutes like bloodmeal.

So my situation was clear, i still had a PH problem and as soon as the PH problem was solved i would have to deal with to much ferts in the soil mix soooooooooooooooooo…
I decided to flush them with tap water for 2 reasons:
1- Remove some of the excess nutes from the soilmix, preventing a serious case of overferting
2- In a more natural way i could get the soil back to a healthier condition, I’m glad I remembered one should never try to correct the PH all at once…

After the flush, as usual I had some lil overwatering signs but never something to be really worried, some fert burning (I confess that one go me worried J).

Today, I did my first normal watering after the flush (4 days), the condition is already stable and there is no sign of overferting; The new grow in the main cola does not exibit burning tips anymore and the colas are packing good with great crystal production; I still have 19 days to go till harvest, more then time to end up with a happy face

Just remember we all make mistakes, not a big deal after all, we’re human; at least I’m, heeheehee!

Peace,

wolf

i have a few plants doing the exact same thing.is it possible to only effect a few plants this way.i fill 8 milk jugs out of the tap and stick them under the sink till the next watering.one more thing that i noticed is that the plants doing this are not drying out like the others(the soil).kinda like the roots arent soaking up the water.

thanks for any help.....

Remember, different plants different needs

Some are more sensitive to PH changes, some are more sensitive to nutes, etc... that's why one must get used not to look to the garden as a group but instead a few singular individuals packed together

Hey Wolf dude,
What kind of mineral water are u using that has a pH of 5.6??? Wow dude ! I'm glad you got it sorted tho - just wanna say I give my plants mineral water, but I use volvic (it's pH is EXACTLY 7.0), or u could try Evian, which has a pH of 7.2.

Good luck with the harvest man,

Thumbs up "Wow!" She Said As The Light Bulb Went Off!!

That makes perfect sense! I just happened to be looking at your post and checked my water bottle and guess what? My hubbby has been buying purified water !!!!!!!!

So, with my fertilizer being 20-30-20, and purified water, my plants have been experiencing the same thing! I'm surprised they still look good as they do. These changes have only been occurring in the last two or three weeks or so.

Well, gotta run out now and get some mineral water! Unfortunately, I just watered my plants this morning. How long do you think I should wait before introducing the good stuff, or maybe I should go ahead and transplant them into their final resting place and water accordingly since their already 10 1/2 tall?

Using Hot Tub CHemical Ph up and Ph down? and more Questions..
permalink

Something to think about...
Hi all, Could u use the chemicals used for lowering and rising the water of a outdoor hot tub's Ph level, in the water solution of food or just water that we give our pot plants?
plainly titled : 1 called Ph Up, 1 called Ph Down. Can i use these? i also have Ph and alkalinity Testing Strip set. which i have only around 15 left. a 40 test strip pack is like 25 bucks. Anyway I use 2 milk jugs that 1 i keep water in and other i keep water with plant food and urine in. and 1 spray bottle Of mild Plant food For folair feeding every now and then.. is this a bad way to store feeding gear overtime, how often do you need fresh made solutions? i always take caps off and let it all breath before feeding and try to make the fluid at least 75.F "or warm feel" before feeding, they may have been a few times where i couldnt wait and fed cold, or chill solution.. "thinking i shouldnt have done that".

Peace & Smoke ut! Yall! from The Bath Tub in my Backyard kickin it with the Retards and the G-g Chicks, smokin a spliff yeah that should do the trick.
