Ok, I recently transplanted my plants into large pots with a good potting soil (that contains a little perlite). The problem is there is not nearly enough perlite, like hardly any. And the soil stays wet for way to long. Would it be ok if i just tried to work some perlite into the soil without taking the plants out of the pot?? Also is there anything i can do as far as adding something real simple checmically (like h2o2) to the soil to help the plants breath. I think my plan is to add perlite to the pot and gently mix it in. Please give any tips you can. Thanks

![]() | This is what u do!!!! Just take one plant out at a time and put it in a temp. pot. Leave some soil with that plant so you don't damage the roots. Work the perlite in the pot you took the plant out. It should be aroung 40%-50% of perlite in your pots with soil. Put the plant back in pot and dont water them till the soil is dry. Check this buy puttiing fingure in top of pot near the walls about 4 inchs, and then put your fingure in one of the drain holes at bottom and see if it is moist. If bottom feels dryish, than it is time to water. If you don't add perlite to your soil you will get stagnet soil and it will kill your plants from bad root development and root rot from sitting in wet soil all the time. Do not mix perlite in soil when plants r in the pots you will cause root damage and probably kill your plants. ![]()
