![]() | Yesterday I applied pesticide to my plant to get rid of some bugs. Today, the plant nearly doubled in height and all the leaves started pointing up. The plant is three weeks old, and was 5" yesterday. Today it is 8" and instead of limp drooping leaves its got rigid leaves point straight up and out. I have never sprayed them with anything before so it could be that the plant needed some "rain" or it could be the pesticide. Has anyone experienced a similar situation and should I be worried about this?

![]() | I used "TROUNCE" brand "House Plant Insect Killer" from "Safer's". It claims to contain "1.0% Potassium salts of fatty acids" and "0.01% Pyrethrins". I bought because it was the most expensive stuff I could find and also I heard Pyrethrins were safe on MJ. Anyone have more info. on this product?

![]() | Oh wait I totally forgot!! I re-read your post organic and when you mentioned hormones I just remembered I added a small amount of vitamin B1 hormone to my water the same day I sprayed the pesticide. I used 2mL of "VitaMax" in 2L of water. I had no idea it would produce so much growth, I've used it before on other plants with no noticeable results. That was the first time I used it on that plant. Has anyone used this product? As a reference, it contains the following: 0.8-0.5-1.6 (NPK) Vitamin B1,pyridoxine,niacin,and seaweed extract. Is it safe to continue using this stuff? Should I stop when flowering begins?

![]() ![]() ![]() | I still haven't heard of anyone having results like that, but possibly the combination of the two products caused it. Anyone else? ? ? ? In general, anything that causes extremely rapid growth or other changes isn't a great thing. What you have happening is a situation of overstress - plants just don't grow that fast in nature, and it may have unintended effects like causing the plant to turn out hermie or something. I wouldn't pull it out or anything, just watch what happens and see if you can correlate any other weirdness with this incident. - o -

![]() | OK. Thanks organic, your information is quite useful. Growth is back to normal now, it was just that one day that it went crazy. That was an interesting combination though. Maybe I've stumbled onto some secret super growth concoction LOL (![]()
