Ok the story is that i got a few cuttings and i put them under the only fluros i had (only 22 watts) within a couple weeks they had rooted and i put them under my hps light. i put the light up like 3.5 ft in order to let the plants adjust to it. My babies have had a lot of problems though and i dont know what to do. Its only been a few days under the hps and they looked really bad plus there are some bugs too. I thought they were burnt at first and one of my friends thinks I should go out and buy a mh conversion bulb which i was about to do until i called one of the hydroponics stores in my area. Ive got a hortdulix bulb and he said it was fine and that i shouldnt go out and buy the conversion bulb and that i probably over furtilized them. I only used what the bottle suggested but i dunno. So basically i dont know if i should go out and buy the other bulb or if i should just try to flush these babies out. the tips on them are kindy blackish and curded up but ill post some pics...

They will need to adjust...sooner is better than later. They look a little over-ferted, but they should recover fine. Flush the cubes really well. Then start them at half strength nutes....cuttings are really sensitive, so be careful on the concentration. What bugs? Can you Id them? And, like you hydro guy said, stick with the hortilux. You'll get better results ![]() C.C.

![]() | well this is my first grow attempt so my best guess of the bugs is spidermites i have bang stuff which is supposed to kill them and i spray them once and i will again later today (says 2 times a week until the problem is gone) by flushing them u mean watering them with just plain water right? the hydro guy said to do it like 3x as much as i was watering them before but before i was just trying to keep the cubes moist so does that mean i should leave the cubes soaked constantly? another friend of mine is going to bring up a 40 watt fluro bulb for me to use for a while but do u think it would still be better to go with my hortilux rather then that? or both perhaps? and this is why i love this site...i must have posted this like an hour ago and i have an answer already hehe

If there are little roots, just emerging from the cube, they are still a little young for a HPS. I wait until there is about a 4" tail from the cube before I plant clones in any medium. The "3X" comment from your hydro guy, was him getting you to flush as well. Continue to flush(pH adjusted water to 6.0 and no nutes) until the new growth is emerging healthy(tips are not burned and colour is good). Then start the half strength feeding routine for 2 weeks. After that, they should be able to handle a normal feeding concentration. And sometimes we take awhile....but eventually someone stumbles in to lend a hand ![]() Good Luck... C.C.
