I noticed hundreds of these tiny fast moving little bugs in the tray I have for collecting run-off from my pots. After a bit of research I found a pic on the web of the bug I have and they turn out to be thrips. Any suggestions on iradication?

Very similar controls as whiteflies. Yellow and/or blue sticky traps, insecticidal soap, predator insects, resmethrin based insecticides are all choices from least toxic to more. Here's a good article. I never knew they were biters. Did you know that ladybugs bite also?

Thrip Control

Good luck.

Sweet! Great article. thanks very much. Ifound out that nematodes are a natural predator of thrips, and some spidermites....but I don't wanna go that route hehe.
