Organic Nute Burn
permalink

My plants water leaves are kind of yellowing and turning black like the tips were burnt, but just on the tips of them and a little yellowing on the sereated leaf. I am using Fox Farm Grow Big concentrate mixed with water like it says to do on the back of the label. I have two 33 watt fluoro's and a small fan on low in my closet. I am having some trouble keeping my soil wet does anybody water theyre plants with like a cup of water instead of mist? How much water would you probably use on a small plant like the one in the picture below? Thanks

That plant is too young for nutes. The soil should not be kept wet, but allowed to dry out some between waterings. What size pot is it in, and what kind of soil mix?

I believe its just regular potting soil with perlite, my other plants are in Scotts added Phosphorus and one in some seed starting soil my friend has. The container is 1.5 QT. My other plants are taking nicely to the nutes it seems, one is fairly larger and the second one is shorter but about the same in leaf sizes. It just seems this one plant isnt enjoying it as much.

Since this plant is the only one experiencing problems and is also the only one in that particular soil I suspect it may be to blame. It really doesn't look like there's much perlite in it. Maybe it is holding too much water.

I think its perlite but when I picked a piece out it was hard and when I pressed it between my fingers it broke up into a powder.

That sounds like perlite. It holds oxygen and aids drainage, which is important.
