the brown tips are prolbably nute burn, thats a number one sign. whats the pH of your soil? if the leaves are gettin crispya nd brown chances are there is a pH imballance or to many nutes. what i would reccomend is to test your pH, then do a flush and leach all the nutes outta your soil and see how they do. you said you are ferting, how often and at what strength. answering these questions will help with a proper diagnosis

yeah you should be able too... if you want a better pH tester, go to your local gardening store. as for the flush, just note if you see any stuff comming outta the bottom. you wanna leach the soil, so you should see built up salts running out the bottom. flush till the water becomes clear, then don't water again for about a week, give or take.

thats what i would do, but then again, i ain't no dirt farmer. but i do have burn experiance, and the leaf tips are a tell tale sign.

good luck

get a RH meter. this is a variable that must be monitered. they are realitivly cheap and sometimes come in a combo with a thermometer. i have a digital one, think it cost me like 20 CDN. well worth your while.

yeah purple stems could be the strain. could also be a larve variance of temerature. untill you can measure these your kinda taking a stab in the dark. its better to have all the equipment and know what is really going on, then try to guess at what it may be.
