Going back to veg?
permalink

Yes, here I am again. In fact this is the same plant I have had problems with in the past(claw) but it finally straightened itself out and grew nice and went to bud. After flowering for about 1 month the leaves started changing...getting bigger and flatter with less serations and a little curvy or warped and very little crystal action.(see pics) What's going on? I stopped ferts and flushed about 10 ten days ago but this change had already started then.
Do I just harvest as scheduled in a few days? It seems the buds have stopped filling out and they are pretty small.

These plants look like they are only into the 3rd week of flower. Harvest in a few days? I`m dazed and confused. Indoor grow? Putdoor grow? Strain???

Only 30 days of flower? im as well. Those look like they need at least another 3 weeks of flowering time.

Ooops I really meant to put the details in, darn short-term memory somethin-or-other.
Now what was I saying? Oh yeah, this plant is in a pot( 2 gallon?) It's only about 2' tall even though it is 6 months old! Outdoor grow in Hawaii and it is a no-name Indica strain. It started flowering 7 weeks ago and had lot's of crystals and was forming the tiny, single leaves at the tops of all buds like normal. Then all of a sudden it starts making bigger, "flatter" leaves up above the tiny ones. I know what you mean that it looks like it's not ready but 3 weeks ago you would have sworn it would be done in 3 more weeks.?!

How many hours of daylight in your area...
permalink

... If it is more than 14, its going back into the veg stage. you need to co-ordinate your grow times with the sun`s times. Plant when the sun starts staying out for 14 hours and you should be able to harvest 6 months later when daylight is at its lowest level...

Jamesgang,
I thought you had the answer, it made sense, but I checked and we are just now going over 13 hours of sun per day. I have heard that guys get 3 crops outdoors here but yields vary due to timeof year. Since I usually grow in pots I could give them artificial darkness or light depending on the time of year. Is it possible some strains would react differently to hours of sun?
My first grow was in the fall and I harvested mature buds in about 3 months.(same strain as far as I know) We have very little change in daylight hours compared to the North country where I used to live. I'm not even sure that we will hit 14 hours of sun since right now we are at 13 and 3 minutes.

Wow! Thanks for the link xjo and for the map JimiC. I found that daylight hours vary here from a min. of 10.95 to a max. of 13.31 hours.

I was leaning towards letting this plant grow some more since it looks like it is adding buds now. Then I checked the trichs with a magnifying glass and I am starting to get a little color so it must be time to chop.

It will be a small harvest but it smells like candy

Let that plant grow man, you're first instinct is correct; that plant is not ready for harvest the buds will continue to grow and mature. Check out a few grow journals here on the site to compare notes and pics.
That's my .

There really is no right way to grow, you have to resonate with a style and learn what you can,
tweak it to your own style and raise the bar each grow... OD '07

Now I'm confooozed. The trichs are turning amber, maybe 10%. Doesn't that mean it's harvest time?
