![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have thripes!!! Grrr. Today I found one, I let off about 80 ladybugs a few days ago, but it was before I saw the thripe, and I didn't hit it with neem for about 3 weeks, my question is can I hit with neem or will it kill the LB?

Garlic controls thrips. Break up a head of garlic into individual cloves, stick them in rock or soil and set the pots in between your plants. ![]() The article I read suggested 3 plants per 30 feet (I assume squared) of bench. It works. Neem will prolly kill or drive away your beneficials. Citation: Plants that Repel Thrips A large greenhouse grower in The Netherlands found that garlic plants are an effective way to repel thrips. He uses three potted garlic plants for every 30 square feet of bench area.(9) Last edited by CropReport; 10-22-2009 at 02:22 PM.. Reason: found it

![]() | i have thrips as well and have had them for a long time. I run a perpetual crop and have accepted that I will likely always have them. The best I can do is keep them at a low level. I find that many are killed by the lights themselves as they tend to fly into the light. For the remainder, everytime I find a spider in the house I catch it and release it in the grow room. After a while webs will start to appear throughout the room. Those spider webs are very effective at catching the thrips as they fly around from plant to plant. It's not a total solution but it keeps them at a reasonable level. It's at least as effective as spraying them with something and it's less work for me.
