My plants were attacked by slugs not that long ago and since have not experienced any further infestation. I applied slug bait, i think it has done its job. But the larger fan leaves were left with Huge gaping holes and raggedy edges. I trimmed back the Raggedness and have noticed in the weeks following that the leaves that were damaged had consequently developed yellow/rust colored spots on them. It hasnt gotten worse, but what i have noticed is that the smaller leaves that come in contact with the "chewed up" leaves have become slighlty molted and pocked at the site of the leaf to leaf contact. The newer leaves with their molted, pocked spots have not spread in a major way, but my question is this. A) Should i cut off the fan leaves in question, B) cut off the leaves making contact with the fan leaves, or C) Chill the eff out and stop whining like a little B*tch about it, theyre fine I know by cutting the existing fans, i will be depriving the plants of its biggest chloro producers. So do slug-munched leaves end up becoming infected with disease following attacks? What should i do?

![]() | I just noticed something ... if anyone read my thread about my plants wilting but the leaves were still green, ... I have two plants, one suffered much more than the other, and now, after several VERY small doses of Hydrogen Peroxide 3%, the older plant (with the most drooping) started to EXPLODE back to life, and it started to put it's leaves out again... and the second one with not too much damage (the younger one).. BY 2 DAYS .. Looks like it's on a tropical vacation. Even though yours is a different cause of damage, this could act like MJ Anti-Biotics. could small doses help here ... for YOU? I used JUST ONE CAP FULL, or less, in ~ 1/2 to 2/3 Gal of Mixed food. ONCE-A-DAY ... for 3 days I'm using a Passive Res System, with just air stones the only "Active" piece. ![]() Last edited by Tokin' Hopeful; 08-07-2004 at 08:08 AM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | (C) definitely (C) Here comes an opinion for you. The slugs work from the bottom up. Those leaves were toast and declined. The new growth emerging lower down got a full dose of sun for the first time in the previously shaded life. A little bit of burn a little bit of natural growth habit. Best thing you did was get the slugs under control. I found no evidence of slugs as a vector for plant diseases. Keep watch on the emerging new growth and carry on with whatever fertilizing you had been doing. There's my theory, Darwin. buzzmobile ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | yeah theres certainly new growth and im probably being a whiney lil girl about this...but you know, i cant stand seeing her in trouble. Ive added H2O2 to my experimental plant to control the bacteria from the sugar i added in my plant food. That particular plant believe it or not is extremely healthy. I may do the same here, but would the h2O2 work topicaly on the infected leaf? Anybody ever rub an infected leaf with a cotton swab soaked in perox? Thats an idea. Well thanks Tokin', and you too Mr. Mobile. Appreciate it

![]() | Hi jayv25 I was thinking about Foliar Spraying with a diluted mix of nutes and H2O2, but THEN ... I realized the plants leaves likes CO2, (just the roots like Oxygen), and H2O2 beaks down into O2 and water, so you could be doing damage to the leaves (choking them with O2) when you put H2O2 directly on them ... it's mainly a ROOT med... I'm not completly sure ... but I do know this, eventually, the leaves will get it when it's given to the roots anyway... unless, in a very diluted mix with water (PH balanced, & less than ONE CAP-FULL H2O2 per Gal of water) it may not hurt. Perhaps one of the "MASTER GARDENERS" can give their thoughts on this. ![]() Last edited by Tokin' Hopeful; 08-07-2004 at 05:52 PM..
