So a "friend of mine" gave his plant it's first feeding at about 1 1/2 weeks of age. That was about 3 days ago. Now, a few of the leaves (mostly lower) are turning pretty yellow and getting really crispy. My friend used Green Earth fish emulsion at full recommended strength (1 tbs per litre). Does this sound like nute burn? Does anyone have any pictures of nute burn to share? I've looked but can't find any. Thanks all

It sorta looks like a couple of mine, filabong. Thanks for the quick replies everyone. It's only on one plant, though. Both were fed the same mixture, the same amount, everything. They're the same age etc. I'm not sure why one suddenly decided to be burned. I've flushed both of them, though, and I'll feed again with only half strength to start. I'd post pics, but I've neglected to get a digital camera. I want one, so I can do a grow journal for my all fluoro grow.

The "healthy" plant (ie, the one without dying leaves) turned out to be a male. That prick is going to be brownines soon enough. The other (sickly) is female. Just my luck, eh? So there's still more growth that keeps turning brown and dying. The temp is probably around 30 celcius. The soil is plain with some styrofoam at the bottom for drainage. I gave them fish emulsion every second watering. I just dont get it! I've never had this prob before.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My guess is a pH problem. my deduction is as such; A)Nute burn doesnt 'usually' start at the bottom of a plant.. B)reccomended str feedings fish emulsion every other watering doesnt sound like a real big nute-burner to me.. Have you been testing your pH? What kind of soil are you using? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Say rev, I never had a plant show sex in 2 weeks. You sure it's a male at this point? Fish emulsion is pretty mild. I've used 1 tbls/gal at that point of growth without burn. Must tell us yer soil mix. OP

I haven't been checking the PH. During former grows, though, I'd leave the water sitting out for a while before I gave it to the plants. I haven't been doing that recently. The soil mix is some crappy no-name stuff that looks like a bit of dirt with some garbage in it, and some good soil that has compost in it. There's broken up styrofoam in the bottom for drainage. I was looking a little closer last night and I thought I could see some white hairs on the supposed male. Perhaps a hermie or just a girl psyching me out?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Say Rev, Not much info on yer soil....hmmm...if I was to guess with out much info, I would say it's possible that the no name soil with garbage is pre-ferted. That combined with fish emulsion may have caused the burn. Flush with plain water no nutes fer a while and see what happens. OP
