Are you growing designer genetics or bagseed? designer- chocolate chunk, early pearl x wonderberry, bc big bud. Are you plants from seed or clone? from clone. How old are your plants total? maybe three weeks. Are your plants in flower? no, still veggin. How big are the plants (in height and # of nodes)? about 6 inches... big bud has 6 nodes, early pearl has 10+, chocolate has 6 or 7.. (two were cut) What type of medium are you using and what is its makeup? silica stone in top half of buckets, grow rocks in bottom half. What size planter are they in? 2.5 gallon hydrofarm buckets. Chemical or organic fertilizer? chemical- dutch master... How frequently do you water and how much do you use? reserviors were initially around 1000 ppm. one is an 8 gallon one is 13. i have just been adding water so ppm is now down to 800, which is the lowest reccomended amount by dutch master. only reverse osmosis water is used. How frequently do you feed them and how much do you use? plants have been in my care for two weeks and have recieved one feeding from dutch master. APS, foiltech grow, zone, and penetrator. APS, foiltech, and zone are in reservior and make up the 800 ppm. Penetrator is a spray that has been sprayed twice now, once each week. Have you seen any bugs in your garden? no. What size light are you using? 1000 w HPS, 18/6 cycle How big is the room they are in? about 10' x 10' Do you have ventilation? for right now just a fan blowing in the room, window open, but window is boarded up so very little air is coming in or going out. room is only part of a bigger room, but is sealed off with polyfoam/duct tape. After being away for thanksgiving I discover that the lower stem of the chocolate chunk has developed an area that is coated with thick white hairs. This part of the stem has two freshly cut nodes and it seems weakened. I think its mildew. it is the area of the roots to the first set of nodes that is still growing. [not the ones that were cut off. those are in the center of the affected area.] boyfriend said he tried spraying diluted milk [from our fridge]. i have read that if anything to use unpasturized milk. we are thinking of using baking soda and dish soap, but friends are telling us that it is just natural nutrient runoff/hair growth! im not sure what to do next, and i dont have a picture, i apologize, but i just wanted to see if it was possible to have mildew solely on a stem like that ?? id appreciate any input on my babies. thanks ~flower girl
