2. How old are your plants? 7 weeks - 2 weeks into 12/12
3. How tall are your plants? 25-32 inch
4. What type of hydro system are you using? Ebb & Gro, set to flood for 15 min. every 6 hours.
5. What brand/type of nutrients are you using? SM90 – 120ML per 50 gallons water Protek silicon – 120ML per 50 gallons water 35%H202 - 120ML per 50 gallons water BC Bloom (1N-4P-7K) and boost (3N-0P-2K) nutrients
1 tsp Northern lights Fat flowers (0N-50P-50K) per 10 gallons water
6. Do you have a PPM/EC meter? yes
7. What is the PPM/EC of your tap water? 175-200 ppm
8. What is the PPM/EC of your nutrient solution? 1230 ppm
9. What is the temperature of your nutrient solution? 72-73F I keep it a little warm because the water left in the controller and buckets is cool so it works out to about 70F in the buckets when they are flooded
10. Does your PPM/EC show a rise or fall when you do your daily PPM check? I was at 1050 PPM a few days ago then it dropped 150 ppm so I upped it to 1230 2 days ago and it is staying put for now.
11. Does your pH show a rise or fall when you do your daily check? It slowly creeps up maybe .1-.2 in 12-24 hours. I start at 5.5 wait till it hits 6.2 then back to 5.5
12. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? 2 HPS that = 2000W
13. How close are your lights to the plants? 4.5 feet or so
14. What size is your grow space in square feet? 11’x11’widex10’2”tall
15. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? 65F-68F 50-60% humidity when lights are off and 78F max 35-40% humidity with the lights on.
16. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? Only the ones I put in there to eat the bugs that were attacking my trees (aphids).
17. How much experience do you have growing? No much at all, a few Hydro grows with other types of systems (NFT and Drip)
18. What is your soil mix? Higromite
19 Ventilation? There is 1 190CFM intake, 1 449CFM intake that come on with the lights, 1 449CFM exhaust with a Carbon Filter 20" Tall x 15 ". 1 - 6” passive filter which is basically a hole that’s filtered. An Oscillating Wall-Mount Fan on low that turns off if the temp goes under 69F.

Does any one know what this could be? There are some deformed, discolored and curling leafs; it’s only on the very top of the plant. All the other growth looks fine. The plant is Blueberry. There are 5 other plants in the system 2 WW and 3 BB and they look normal. Tobacco Mosaic virus maybe? I don’t smoke but my roommate does and he visits the trees allot, he always washes his hands but from what I read you can get it on your clothing too. Thanks for the help.

It really sounds like you know what you are doing and your plants look fine.

Not sure why your leaf looks like that. My best guess is maybe you are putting too much stuff in the water. I would only use h2o2 when needed. The SM-90 is a good preventative for pests and fungus, so I'd keep that. The Fat Flower is useless at 2 weeks flowering. You wanna keep that out until the 5th or 6th week of flowering for an 8 week strain.

Maybe now would be a good time to flush them.

I added the H2O2 last res change because I hade some green algae starting in the bottom of my buckets. It happens because they are white an all...... But most the time it's just SM90 and silicon + nutes. I added the fat flower per the directions on the container; it says 1 tsp per 10 gal for week 1-5 then 1 tsp per 5 gal in week 6 – 7 in addition to normal nutes. Then flush for a week. Should I flush them with PHed water now? How long should I flush? 1 flood? 2, 3? a few days? I have heard that it is a good idea to remove salts ect but have never done it. Thanks again for the advice! Also the main bud seems to be forming fine it's just those 3-4 leafs that are weird.

Its too late and im too stoned to look it up, but i remember a trace deficit tomato that looked like that.

Was something like excessive boron or one of those :\

Try a good ole flush, and then add a broad spectrum in mild doses and see what happens.

Your numbers sound about perfect. I'd try playing with the food to get the pH to settle down. My guess would be, since it keeps rising, they are hungry.

I'm a firm non believer in H202-my guess would be that's the problem. Do what you can to remove ALL light from the res-that's generally what causes the algae.

That's my guess.

All the best,
Lollie

Conversions: 70 ppm to 50 ppm = 1 CF = 0.1 EC and 5 ml = 5 cc = 1 teaspoon

The reservoir is in a separate room that is kept totally dark unless I am in there checking up on things. I need to spray-paint the buckets black or cover them up with something. But this is my first grow in this system so I am still figuring stuff out as I go. As for the H2O2 causing the leaf problem, it started just before the last res change about a week ago and that was before H2O2 was added. I also was thinking it might be the algae but there is none on the rocks in the buckets that I can find just in a slight ring around the bottom where the most light leeks in. The PPM dropped again by 50ppm’s in the last 12 hours. So I guess I will change out the res. today with some water and flush them, then make a new batch with no H202 and about 1350 PPM. But no one answered my question about flushing in the middle of a grow….. How long do I do it for before I add food back in? 1flood? 1 day ect.????? Thanks for the help guys!

Precisely why noone gave a response. Too many options and opinions.

But I will just say this and I hope this answers your question...

Flush with plain water. Check the ppm when you begin the flush. Then check the ppm every 15 minutes until the ppm level quits rising. At this time, you will be done flushing. You may even need to change the res once or twice during flushing. Don't worry about ph because it is not important during a flush. Surely someone will have a different opinion and now will be the time they will chime in.

Good luck!
