![]() | I have been fighting temp issues in my attic all summer with heat and humidity. I had a month of nice weather with no temp issues, now we are setting in to the winter here in the Smokey Mountains. I have air feeding the room from the house with ambient temps ( AC summer and heat winter) but I have not completed the grow space in regards to insulation and outer plastic and wall board. The question...... Artificial night is 11 pm to 11 am in the flower room and temps are dropping to low 60's in the evening before the lights kick on and warm the room. Is this a problem? I have 2 females with days of finish and 4 monsters that I over vegged in week 2 of flower. Thanks in advance for the input I know I will recieve. I know I have read cool temps at night make the female produce more resin to protect herself but I am sure I was stoned when I read it. Sure because I am always stoned. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | what are your daytime temperatures? you dont want too broad of a swing (no more than 20 degrees) low 60's is fine as long as daytime temperatures are not too high but its cutting it close... If it starts to drop into the 50's then i'd concider adding a heater.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | low to mid 60's isn't too bad. it's certainly not going to kill your plants by any means. consider how often temps drop below that at night during a regular outdoor season. although they aren't quite optimal temps for growing, and that is the goal of indoor growing.. the perfect conditions to grow in. depending on the size of your space, have you considered a small space heater? or if your in a smaller are perhaps one of those electric heating pads for you back. they have different settings, so you could even control how much you warm it up still.. james ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have discovered that plants slow down their growth when temperatures drop to the 60's. Although the plant will survive, it will grow much slower than ideal. Frankly, I don't see how a heating pad will work. It's the ambient temperature that needs to be controlled; a heating pad will not do that.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hey WnB...some good suggestions, but would agree with BC...a heating pad really won't be of much help. You didn't mention the size of your containers, but a heating pad is best for containers under two inches [my ].Again, not knowing too much about your set up [i.e. is it contained (cabinet, pannels for walls w/open top, etc.) or out in the open? I'm at a loss to try and offer advice. But, not being one to let you go away empty handed, why not go by your local Big Box One-stop and/or home center and pick up a small ceramic heater with a thermostat. They are not a big purchase item, and might give you the peace of mind and solution you are looking for... Good luck! Nelson

Mr. Mutz.......when done I should have a pretty decent set up..... I have a 4x4 veg chamber under 400 watt and a 4x8 flower chamber under 2x600 watt (both 8 ft. ceiling). Got everything framed and internal plywood with some mylar on the walls (bottom 4').Ceiling closed in. The lights have 6 inch ducts but I am pulling air with a 4 inch squirrell fan through all three lights and in to a 550 cfm carbon filter (need 6 inch fan). had A/C pumping all summer and was a steady 75 degree. Now with winter setting in NO Ac for the past month I was holding around 75 lights on and dropping to 70 lights outs......as it gets colder the past few days I am at like 72 lights on and 65 lights out. As stated origionally lights on at 11 pm and last night was 29 outside, room was at 60 before lights kicked on and wife made me turn on the heat. My swing is getting greater but with the 4 monsters I have in there in week 3, the stretch is almost done I hope. I have 1 last plant in its last days of flower at 64 days now.... I harvested 1 ten days ago because it hermied on me ( i missed it)and it has been good for the head. So I am taking timed samples of my seeded crop(every 4 days) to figure out how to better suit my needs as I grow-on.This last one will have 50-60% withered pistals. That and the fact I rather manicure 1 a day than 4 as that is like work. Sorry.....stoned and just typing away a little off subject.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If this is the case switch your lighting so that artificial night is during the day when it is warmer. This way your lights are running at night to help heat your room.
