![]() ![]() ![]() | I have a 2wk old Durban Poison plant growing in a 3 1/2 gallon DWC, it's growing alongside two 5wk old soil plants. The two soil plants have both just shown their pre-flowers, and are getting pretty big so it's time for me to switch the light times to 12/12 and start them flowering. My question is this: Will switching my lights in early veg. before my hydro plant is mature cause it to start flowering earlier or will it continue to veg. until it is mature enough then start to flower??

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | nickbags That is one good looking plant in DWC but not near mature to flower yet, it will be a shame to put it to flower now and not get the potential potency or yield out of it. Since the others are in soil, why not keep the lights ON for veg and take the soil plants to another dark space for 12 hours a day so this one continues to veg for at least another two weeks or until it gets some alternate nodes. It's only two plants , should be easy to move in and out for couple weeks. Just a thought. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | Ok, i wasn't that concerned with a lesser yeild but if it's going to lose some potency too i'll def. find a way to veg. it longer. Thanks again guys, i'd be lost w'out ya's. I was concerned with space too since it's 100% sativa and my cab is 3'x1.5'x5.75', but i'll be training the crap out of it anyway so i'm not too worried about that.

![]() | The admin had a good point....although as a commercial grower I can say that almost any plant can be switched to flowering when it hits 8" in height. Your plant looks about that size. But dont forget to adjust pH and nutrients accordingly

With out trying to get off topic here, I have to say that, size means nothing. A plant is not mature until it started growing alternating nodes. Anything before that, It will be like appointing a baby to the Presidency. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | How long into veg do people typically wait to start flowering in a sog? Isn't it basically immediately after cloning? Which means that they would be pretty tiny plants.

![]() ![]() | Clones are a different story, they are the same genetic age as the mother, so the clones are actually mature and can be flowered almost immediately.
