first time indoors...running with: - 4'11" x 4'11" x 6'7" Secret Jardin Dark Room - 1 600W Hydrofarm Daystar AC on Yo-Yos (light stays a minimum of a foot away from the plants) - 1 Hydrofarm Digital Timer - 1 Hydrofarm 600W Lumatek Digital Ballast - 1 6" x 24" Carbon Filter suspended in the top center back of the tent - 1 Sunleaves 6" fan 409CFM 70W - 1 fan control unit - 2 movable adjustable clip fans in opposite corners that will stay just above the canopy - passive air intake through the adjustable lower vents - 1 4' x 4' tray on Cinder Blocks and 2" x 6" wood beams with a slight slant towards the center and front so excess runoff water irrigates to the front of the tray where ive secured a spigot to drain - 1 Ipod dock with speakers across the room running a constant random mix of the late great Bob Marley, Pato Banton, Pepper, Slightly Stoopid, Barrington Levy, Jimi Hendrix and Willie Nelson at a low level that can barely be heard from outside the room with the door closed (gotta keep the vibes good!!!) running it: Carbon Filter >> Fan >> Light >> Exhaust been up and running for 4 days now and with lights on im sitting at about 80.6F and my humidity stays between 20%-27%...with lights off im sitting at about 70F and 20% humidity i picked up 19 Sour Diesel clones and 1 G-13 clone all in Grodan Cubes from a nearby patient...i placed them in 1.5 Gallon pots with good irrigation and used Happy Frog Soil (people suggested Ocean Forrest, but i was successful with HF outdoors)..everythings going ok so far, but on some of the SD clones, the older fan leaves are becoming twisted, dry and brittle...pics speak far louder then words so: heres the set up: ![]() heres one of the better looking Sour Diesel clones after 3 days on a 22/2 cycle with temp being around 80F with 20-27% Humidity with lights on ![]() and the following are pics of other plants from the same batch of clones, in the same conditions...as you'll see the fan leaves are becoming extremely twisted, dry and brittle...as i said, i haven't added any nutes whatsoever, I'm using Happy Frog soil, and i keep the light at least 12" away from the plants: ![]() ![]() ![]() out of the 19 SD clones i have, i'd say that 13 of them have some degree of this twisting dry brittle older fan leaves...is this natural?...will it pass with patience or do i need to take some action right now?...the G-13 clone is responding very well any suggestions or tips? thank you if youre interested in keeping up with this grow...i have started a grow journal in the proper section that will be updated daily thank you avain

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ouch! A bit of stress there. Cant' be the music. You have that down I'd back off the light first just to ease their struggle. Kill the fans or turn them down. Too much wind dries out the leaves. Go to an 18 hours schedule to give them more recovery time. I actually veg in 16 hours myself and it does wonders with borderline sick plants That 20% humidity can't be helping either. Plants need moisture in the air to allow the stomata to breath...dry air shrinks those little devils. Ive grown many times in exactly the same RH> 20-25 %. Vegging can be a biach and frustrating. With low RH the plants will be 'weak' and susceptible to problems. Same reason cannabis does not do well in the desert. Too dry I like to keep my humidity around 50% or higher in veg...at least 35 if possible. You can get a small ultrasonic fogger for that room from one of the Marts' for appx 35 or 40 bux. It will do wonders for their overall health. Hopefully you can keep the room RH up there with out too much venting. You might save those with some patience....some new growth will come if care is taken Last edited by skwirlgirl; 11-14-2008 at 02:17 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Please fill out the plant help questionaire... link in my sig... You have not given us enough info to help... I'm not familliar with Happyfrog... does it have ferts in it... it sure doesn't have much perlite... Are you feeding them... They look a little over fertalized to me. And RH of 20% is WAY too low

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I had the same problem on one plant but I don't know exactly what it was from I corrected it after I 1. raised humidity to 45% 2. flushed 3. aerated the soil. so I could have had too low humidity, overwatered, or overnuted. hope this helps

![]() ![]() ![]() | thanks hunter: overwatering is def. not the problem and i havent used any nutes yet so that cant be it pretty sure this has to do with humidity...gonna go with SkwirlGirls suggestion of buying a small ultrasonic fogger...hopefully that remedies the problem...if youre interested in what happens i'll make sure to update this thread or check out the grow jounal... thanks again

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | get some clear plastic cups and place upside down over your clones.. Buy large enough ones so your leaves aren't all pushed along the sides.. it will save you some $$ on a fogger and will raise your humidity.. 2L bottles may work for you too.. Also how much drainage do your pots have? (holes in the bottoms) Ive noticed a nice tray under your pots - make sure after you feed, the bottoms of your pots are not sitting in the over flow water.. this will decrease the soils ability to drain and add O2 to the roots.. ![]()
