Hey there,

Do peat pots decompose quickly enough to allow placing seedlings, pot and all, into larger containers?

Thanks for the assist.

Hey wingnut105 Welcome to the Garden!

I used a peat pot once and months later there was still enough of the pot left that Ill never use it again...

If your looking for something similar to sprout seeds then you can just use the Juffy pellets (packed soil with netting).. You can either sprout first using the papertowel method, or cup of water, then place into the jiffy.. Or you can just plant directly in the jiffy and wait for them to sprout..

Either way just make sure theres plenty of humidity, and try to maintain 75f..

Good luck.. hope this helps ya sum!

Welcome to the GardensCure

I have used the PeatPots and planted to soil outdoors, I just cut a few slices down the side to help open them up.

Have you ever tried them in pots indoors? I guess it wouldnt really matter as long as the roots have a place to get out via your slicing the sides which is a great idea may I add ...

Just mine seemed to take months and never really broke down
