![]() ![]() ![]() | Ok while I was changing things around to get the lights above the plants, everything took a tuble. They all got dropped and several clones were thrown out of their soil/peat pot. It did allow me to get a better look at the roots though. The shitty looking clones have little to no root growth, while the healthier looking one's roots have already started to grow through the bottom of the peat cup - these ones will be transplanted into bigger pots and put under the 250w hps in the next few days. I really hope my beat up little black domina girls pull through because B.D. is one of my favorite strains. So now I've reduced the lighting to only 150w cfl and the plants are a couple inches above the shorter plants. I also put the fan above, and it seems to be giving better air flow. I watered around the outside of the plants, leaving the rock wool fairly dry, hoping to get those roots stretching. And Nigel, I'm using 2mm thick mylar. It probably would have been better to go with a white surface, but I spend a pretty penny on my mylar so I hate to see it go to waste. If things don't get better I'll replace the mylar with copy paper. And I don't fully understand the fourth thing you said: "...and grow pot stuff needs protection." Can you please explain? ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | My lights came from wal mart and cost $10 each. They supposedly use 17watts, but emit equivalent to 75watts. As of right now, I don't really encourage using cheap cfl's to veg, but I'll have a more educated opinion as time goes on.

![]() ![]() ![]() | I guess I should have shopped around a bit more. I searched homedepot and lowes and didn't find exactly what I was looking for and then when I saw those lights at walmart I got all excited and bought on impulse. Those $6 14w cfl's from home depot required buying a $50 thing to plug the lights into. I know my terminology is weak, but I'm learning slowly but surely!

![]() ![]() ![]() | But then you need to plug the adapter into... I guess you could just plug it into an extension cord and then plug it into an outlet?
