I've grown twice outdoors (only one was a success), but this is my first indoor adventure. I've acquired 3 fully rooted clones from my favorite mmj dispenserary. I'd got them set up in a cardboard box with mylar covering the inside. I'm going to put them under a 250w hps when I have built a legitimate box. Right now the only lighting is a little 17w "grow light" from walmart. The light only uses 17 watts, but emits equal to a 75 watt bulb. I plan to buy one more of these lights and veg them under the 150 watts before putting the plants and cfl lights under my 250w hps. The clones are in clear cups with no soil, just rockwool. I got them last night, 6/15/09 at about 10pm and have not watered them because the rockwool is moist. Should I put them in soil already? Or should I wait until I have atleast 150watts of cfl to add soil and water them? And is 150 watts enough to veg 3 little clones to about 10 inches tall? The temperature is about 77 degrees during the day and 68 at night. And I have everything in a closet with a cracked open window. And there is a small fan blowing on the box (not seen in pics). Here's some pictures: ![]() ![]() ![]() Any comments are appreciated. Thanks

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | hey VO... Do you know what grow equipment you will need? I dont have my grow area totally planned on paper or such...but most advise have'n a plan...kind of like a grocery list. Do you have root cloneing stuff? I would put clone treatment on them and get them in some type of medium since it does not look like you are go'n soilless. I cant see what light your use'n and dont know if its cfl or? Do you know what frequency the bulb you have is? \ooo/ Last edited by Allglad; 06-16-2009 at 08:56 PM..

![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah I know what I'm going to need. I pretty much have everything except for a legit air outtake. I've had it all in my head for a while now, but I got the clones kinda all of a sudden. The clones are already fully rooted. I just wasn't sure if I should put them into soil yet because I currently have them under a compact fluorenscent bulb that uses 17 watts of energy but is supposed to put out 75 watts of light. I know clones will stay alive in rockwool under a cfl, but I'm not sure if adding soil with such minimal lighting would be detrimental. I'm not sure about the frequency, but on the packaging it says: 120V 60Hz 17W 300mA

![]() ![]() ![]() | Once they start rooting (roots appear) then transplant into the next pot. --you said they've rooted, so I would start using the 250w HPS once you transplant. your temps are good, what is the Relative Humidity? you wanna keep it kind of high during veg, around 55% - 70%. What kind of ventilation do you have? you're going to need some way of keeping the temps at 77 once you've got a 250w hanging 1.5 feet above. you're going to need a space secluded for them to grow, I'm presuming that you've got this already. I would personally plant them in 3 - 5 gallon containers while using something from Fox Farm, like Ocean Forrest or Happy Frog is good as well, but that is me personally.. organic MJ is always very nice when grown in the right conditions, when growing organic it's a little easier for the first few grows, til you really get the hang of it. I hope that you pH your water (adjust pH to 6.0 - 6.4 for soil.. keep us posted

![]() ![]() ![]() | I need to get a humidity/thermometer deal soon. And I don't know how to ph test my water without buying some sort of ph guage. I generally just put tap water in a bucket and let it sit outside overnight to let chlorine and such evaporate. I saw a ph guage/thermometer/humidity guage for like $10 when I was at the hydro store a while back and now I wish I would have bought that thing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I dont know about that meter or if the Noob thing is a factor. Maybe there is one of those meters...I doubt it, but there are many possibilities. One of the most likely is the hydro store salesman. I dont know about knowledge at the "average" store, but around my area they are like online seed sites. Some are really really good...and some..well your better bet could be if you found seeds in the wild in the wild. ![]() Maybe Van Omen was misinformed. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | the sensors are mounted on my face and fingers, digital readout in my eyes; all linked to a computer in my head. Nice to see you inside Van Omen. i would put newly rooted stuff in dirt and under cfls first; get them well rooted before hitting them with big guns. best wishes nigel
