I've used 4 kinds...FFOF, Happy Frog, Scott's, and MG. FFOF gave the best results, MG, the worst. FFOF is about $30 a bag at the hydro store. With that I can only fill 2 pots when I replant. Some left over for clones. With the other 3 you gotta add perlite($5 a bag). I'm using Scott's now until I replant. I'm on a budget. Check out the 2 plants in my journal; they are in Scoot's soil. They don't look to bad. But, I use FF nutes as well. Oh yeah, Scott's is in a much bigger bag and it cost less than $10. I gotta do what I gotta do!

They all make valid arguments. Stay within a budget, and don't buy everything at the same time from the same place.
Umm, WOW, your (note the proper usage there) comments range from nitpicking grammar to full on troll insults, and I'm a snob for passing along information that would allow him to get quality organic nutes at affordable prices? I'm trying not to be offended out of courtesy, I think.

Miracle Grow is a MYTH!

Used MG four times and figured results were okay. Used FF one time, and shall never use MG again. Simply unbelievable response! It's like adding another 1wk bulb to the chamber! Bet it nearly doubles yield, plus MJ grown in MG has a definite metallic taste. Ppttt

Using FF does not make one a snob. Of the VERY few who know of the grow, none knows what nutes are used. And even if they did, can't imagine they would be wowed at the choice of fertilizer. That's stupid

Anyone who really thinks a business selling gardening supplies is going to rat out customers is mighty paranoid. Ordered FF nutes from an online site that had nothing else for MJ growing, because they offered them cheapest.

And doesn't that piss you off? Went to price pH test strips online the other day: Medical supply had them dirt cheap, aquarium supply had the mid range price, and the MJ growing supply sites had the the most expensive of all. It's like they figure we have the deepest pockets or something.

If you want to use a simple, inexpensive fertilizer you can get at Lowe's or wherever Peters 20-20-20 All Purpose is a much better choice than MG IMO. Its NPK is better for plants vegging through the first half or so of flowering than anything MG makes to my knowledge, and it has a better range of micronutes. I've grown many good plants with Peters 20-20-20.
