![]() ![]() | I have a nice little veg room in a closet with a fan sucking out the top like crazy, but .. the temp when the lights are off remains about 65 and when lights on 80-90. it is a flood and drain hydro system, i have JACK flash clones and they are getting about 10 inches tall and veryyyy bushy,... heres the questions.. 1) the leaves at the end of the light cycle 18/6 around 15-18 all the leaves just start to droop.. 2) the stems on most areas are a purpleish brown but with green streaks showing through. 3) is the RH of 20% or lower ok? 4) the roots are now popping out of the bottom of these containers in the hydro setup, is that ok to leave them popping out???? they are in the white area basically right in the light almost is this ok?? please help first time grower medical reasons.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | There should be no roots visible, do you have them in hydroton? 90F is pretty hot, anyway to keep it away from that temp? It sounds like they are underfed and underwatered more than anything. Any yellowing? Is the main stalk fairly stiff?

![]() ![]() | thanks a fucking ton man here we go, the stems are awesome, ill put pictures up later tonight.. but yea stems are very strong the bottoms are green, they are turning green, no yellowing on the leaves or anything they are looking great, i water them about 3 times now down from 5 times a day for 15 min a time with a 700 ppm.. 450watt mh I have them in hydroton yes, from the 4x4 rockwoll cube.. is it ok to pull the entire cube up and raise the cube to put more hydroton in there .. and its like 88 at the top and the bottom is like 72... pretty good airflow, i dont know what to do. also what should i do about the roots? stuff them under the buckets?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ok well they seem fine on water then, what ppm are they getting? Are they in very small containers or something? Any curling of the edges on the leaves?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ok well your ph is much too high for one, get it into the 5.5-5.8 range. And the curling is heat stress. Fix your ph and get the heat out and you will be smooth sailing.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yep get that pH down and it should work itself out...they look pretty healthy other than the lockout that is goin on.

![]() ![]() | what do you mean lockout? and I read everywhere man that it should be 6.5, and i do trust you so what should it be? ... so the purple is ok? and also can i pull the rockwoll cube out and make it level with the top so i can put more hydroton in it.. i didnt know it was going to be so big so i started small the roots are coming out of the holes of the bottom of the bucket..

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would only resort to disturbing the root sctructure as a last resort. 6.5 is the pH you would want for SOIL...but this hydro. By lockout I mean that in hydro (and soil) when the pH is too high or too low the plant will not be able to absorb the nutrients, and this is why you are seeing the purpling in the stems. I believe usually (and this is just my experience with netpots) that you position the rockwool cube so that there is just enough room on the top of it to cover it in hydroton... Someone correct me if I am wrong... I have to say I am surprised your plants look the way they do as in hydro at that pH pretty much everything besides N and Mg is getting locked out.
